Abdo Hussameddin

Abdo Hussameddin was Syria's Deputy Minister for Petroleum and Mineral Resources until he announced his resignation in a video message posted to the internet on March 8, 2012. He explained his decision to defect to the Syrian opposition in a message addressed to President Bashar al-Assad, saying: "You brought a year of sadness and misery to those you claim to be your people and deprived them from basic needs and humanity, and brought the country to the brink of disaster though your stubbornness and arrogance while you are cut off from reality." ...more on Wikipedia

Abdul-Salam Ojeili, or Abd al-Salam Ujayli, was a Syrian novelist and politician. Born in Ar-Raqqah. A lesson in Ar-Raqqah and Aleppo and Damascus University, in and out of doctors in 1945. Elected deputy of Ar-Raqqah in 1947. Took a number of ministerial posts in the ministries of culture and foreign affairs and information in 1962, is one of the most important media story and the novel exhibition in Syria and the Arab world, has issued his first narrative work in 1948 . Ojeili entered into and served in the government of Syria from 1947 to 1962. He served in the foreign, culture and information branches. Ojeili had 40 books published. Bashar Hafez al-Assad is the President of Syria, commander-in-chief of Syrian Armed Forces, General Secretary of the ruling Ba'ath Party and Regional Secretary of the party's branch in Syria. He has served as President since 2000, when he succeeded his father, Hafez al-Assad, who led Syria for 30 years until his death. Assad graduated from the medical school of Damascus University in 1988, and started to work as a doctor in the army. Four years later, he attended postgraduate studies at the Western Eye Hospital, in London, specializing in ophthalmology.
