Susanne Abbuehl


Susanne Abbuehl is a Swiss / Dutch jazz singer and composer. As a child she got lessons in harpsichord, playing baroque music. At the age of 17 she went to Los Angeles where she went to a High School attending music lessons on a daily basis, being part of an ensemble that toured the US and Canada. She then studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, Netherlands earning a Master's Degree in performance and pedagogy. Anner Bylsma is a Dutch cellist who plays on both modern and period instruments in a historically informed style. He took an interest in music from an early age. He studied with Carel van Leeuwen Boomkamp at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and won the Prix d'excellence in 1957. In 1959, he won the first prize in the Pablo Casals Competition in Mexico. Later he was for six years the principal cellist in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. He became an Erasmus Scholar at Harvard University in 1982. He is the author of the book Bach, the Fencing Master, a stylistic and aesthetic analysis of Bach's Cello Suites. Richard Ayres is a British composer and music teacher. Richard Ayres followed Morton Feldman’s classes at the Darmstadt and Dartington summer schools. He studied composition, electronic music, and trombone at Huddersfield Polytechnic until 1989, graduating with Distinction in 1989. Since September 1989, Ayres has lived and worked in the Netherlands. He studied postgraduate composition course at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, studying with Louis Andriessen, and graduating in 1992.
