List Rules Notable people belonging to The Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine

List of Famous Shriners ranked by fame and popularity. The Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, known as Shriners is a fraternal, charitable organization that incorporates the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth into their core beliefs. The Shriners have chapters all over the world that have been home to many famous individuals over the years.

Who is the most famous Shriner? Former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt tops our list. Other notable politicians who are Shriners include Harry S. Truman, Gerald Ford and Warren G. Harding. The Shriners operate 22 hospitals across the United States, Canada and Mexico that treat orthopedic injuries, diseases, and birth defects in children.

Hollywood is also home to some famous Shriners. “Gone with the Wind” actor Clark Gable and the famous Western actor John Wayne were both members of the Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. Musicians Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Johnny Cash all call themselves Shriners as well. Actor and comedian Mel Blanc was a Shriner and he provided the voice for Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and other famous Warner Brothers' characters.
