Sheryl Denise Swoopes is a retired American professional basketball player and the head coach of the women's basketball team of Loyola University Chicago. She was the first player to be signed in the WNBA when it was created. She has won three Olympic Gold Medals and is a three-time WNBA MVP. Frequently referred to as the "female Michael Jordan," Swoopes is famous for both her offensive and defensive skills. In 2005, she averaged 18.6 points, 85% free throws, 4.3 assists, 2.65 steals and 37.1 minutes playing time per game. She was the silver medallist in the 10,000 metres at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics and the silver medalist in the same race at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. Renny Quow is a male track and field sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago who specializes in the 400 metres and has made it to both the Olympic and World Finals in the event, a rare feat for athletes from the Caribbean in the 400m .He competes professionally for Adidas. He was born in Tobago. Quow remains the only quarter miler from T&T to make it to every major 400m finals. Quow attended South Plains College in Levelland, Texas before turning Professional, becoming the most successful quarter miler in the college's history.
