Some shows have peaks and valleys of quality, but there is occasionally the rare show that improves upon itself every year. Redditors have explained which shows they've seen over the years that just got better season after season.

Person of Interest. The writers cleverly used the case-of-the-week format mandated by CBS to tell the story in a serial fashion.Improved?

Possibly The Leftovers. That's a pretty divisive one though. Most people agree S2 is the best and I agree, but I think S3 is every bit as great. Some people like S1 the most too. But I think because of the drama of knowing S3 was the end gives a different but equally as great feeling as S2 did that it works for this.Improved?

Except not only did it get better, it became a different TV show. The first season was pretty good, but nothing overly special aside from being the only real sci-fi show in space out there that had a continuing story as opposed to half the episodes being bottle necked episodes and nothing more.
Then the second season happened. The first five episodes absolutely blew the previous season out of the water. All of a sudden, there was a hell of a lot more character development, the main story became full focus with nothing else trying to take up space, and the show got a bit more violent.
And then the third season happened. Holy sh*t, it's like this show not only increased in popularity, but also overall quality. Better written characters, massively increased sci-fi spectacles. Violence was even ramped up (Poor Mateo). It's like watching something slowly grow and mature and you can see all the positive changes.
Not to mention, it's following the books the show is based off of rather faithfully, with the main changes simply being a difference between books and TV mediums.Improved?

This is the correct answer. The first season was derivative of other offerings from AMC. Season two found secure footing, getting better and better until concluding with an absolute masterpiece of a season.Improved?
