It seems Morgan (Lennie James) is back to saving strangers.
In an exclusive clip from Season 4's eleventh episode - titled "The Code" - Morgan stumbles across a man running through a walker-infested field with a bag over his head. After pinballing off a few of the undead, the man falls to the ground. Morgan shows up in time to quickly dispatch the encroaching walkers.
He pulls the bag off the man's head to reveal Aaron Stanford's recently announced character. At San Diego Comic-Con, AMC announced that Stanford – who played Pyro in X:2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, and starred in Syfy's 12 Monkeys adaptation – was joining the show mid-season. Little is known about his character, but he doesn't seem happy to see Morgan even though the Walking Dead vet saved his life.
"How long does it take to run across a goddamn field?"
Morgan offers food and water, only to be ignored. The man he saved walks off in a huff, mentioning something about IPAs and another mystery man who dropped him in the field to begin with. That's when the man reveals his unusual post-apocalypse occupation.
"Beer," he tells Morgan. "I brew beer."
It will be interesting to see how this man – along with the rest of the yet-unseen midseason newcomers – will gel with the current group of survivors. Thanks to a Texas hurricane, the group is scattered and seeking to reunite.
Fear the Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 on AMC.
