Sunscreen Because It's the One Responsible Thing You Can Do
Don't end up like this guy. When you're drunk and dancing, it's easy to forget to reapply sunscreen throughout the day; however, having a painful sunburn will make the rest of the festival experience miserable.
Though sleeping in a tent is rarely anyone's idea of a good time, if you're going to be passing out in one for three days or longer, you better make sure that it's a good one. Make sure before leaving for the fest that there aren't any holes or tears in your tent, that it's big enough to accommodate everyone that plans on sleeping in it, and that it has a rain cover in case the weather decides to rain on your parade.
You'd be surprised at how much trash builds up over a weekend outside of civilization. Tie trash bags to the side of your tent or easy up, and be sure to throw them away frequently to avoid smells and extra mess. Not only will it make for a more pleasant communal area, the festival promoters and organizers will be extremely grateful.
We cannot stress this necessity enough! Accept when going into a festival that you will be caked in dirt by hour three, and a hot shower will be nothing but a dream. To keep that festival grime at bay, use baby wipes throughout the day to avoid feeling gross.
