What the Species in Finding Dory Look Like in Real Life

Forgetful Dory and the ever-impatient Marlin returned to movie theater screens in 2016 with Pixar's follow up to the heartwarming Finding Nemo. The sequel, Finding Dory, follows Ellen DeGeneres's beloved swimmer as she struggles to find her biological family (with the help of a few friends along the way, of course). The emotional and charming sequel is chock-full of new faces and old. But have you ever wondered what your favorite fishy friends look like without all the CGI animation?

By now, you probably already know that Dory's real life counterpart is the beautifully colored blue tang. And everyone knows that Marlin and Nemo are self-proclaimed clownfish. But even if you know what kind of fish Dory is, can you name all the other species that float through the movie? Pixar does a brilliant job at realistically animating these aquatic species to match their oceanic equivalents. But the actual animals are even more stunning and magnificent in real life.

If you haven't seen Finding Dory, you won't be disappointed to find that all of the characters are adorable and fascinating in their own right. Check out the real life inspiration behind Disney's biggest animated fishbowl. Here are what the species in Finding Dory look like in real life.
