The 40+ Best Firefighter Movies, Ranked by Fans

Vote up your favorite movies about firefighters

There are a considerable number of firefighter movies that have been made over the years, but which are actually worth watching? From films made in the last few years to classics from the '80s and '90s, these are the best movies about firefighters you should be watching in 2022, ranked by movie lovers like you.

One of the newest movies about fire is 2021's Those Who Wish Me Dead, a thriller starring Angelina Jolie as a smoke jumper in Montana who is fleeing a deadly blaze (and something even more sinister) while escorting an injured boy through a remote forest. It's one of the few movies about a wildland firefighter, which makes it stand out against the other films on this list.

If you're looking for a firefighter movie that's more of a classic, you can't go wrong with Backdraft. Released in 1991, Backdraft follows a team of firefighters as they hunt a deadly arsonist. Fun fact about the film - Robert De Niro, Kurt Russell, and the rest of the cast actually went out on calls with real Chicago firefighters to prepare for their roles. It ended up receiving three Oscar nominations.

This ranked list features over 40 movies about fire or firemen and is ordered based on the number of votes each film receives. If you've seen these movies, be sure to drop an upvote or downvote next to the film and help shape the list!

Updated 11/22 by Chris Abraham to include the movie Fireheart, a 2022 animated film about a girl who wants to be the first female firefighter.
