Impressive Foreshadowing Fans Noticed In The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Movies
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most entertaining, epic franchises in movie history. They introduced the world to Captain Jack Sparrow, which to many is Johnny Depp's most memorable role. There is swashbuckling, gunship battles, and tons of irreverent humor. There's something else that POTC does really well that fans don't often think about, though: foreshadowing. Truly, there's "buried treasure" everywhere, like how the opening shots of Curse of the Black Pearl set the stage for Barbossa's curse. In Dead Man's Chest, a trader tells Will of an island with "delicious long pork," which winds up being the cannibal island he lands on later. Davy Jones sets the stage for Calypso in Dead Man's Chest by revealing the heart-shaped locket they share.
