The Eagle Summit is a subcompact car that was produced by Mitsubishi Motors from 1989 to 1996. It was sold as a captive import by the Jeep-Eagle sales division that was created after Chrysler Corporation purchased American Motors Corporation in 1987. The Summit was one of the passenger car lines to expand the marketing mix of the Jeep dealer sales and service network in North America.
The Eagle Talon was one of three model names given to a sports coupe that was manufactured between 1990 and 1998 and sold by the Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors of Japan in a joint 50/50 corporate venture known as Diamond-Star Motors. The Talon was sold under the Eagle marque, a brand developed by Chrysler to compete with Japanese imports in the late 1980s after purchasing American Motors in 1987. Chrysler dropped the legacy line of AMC cars and renamed the distribution of Jeeps, the Medallion captive import, as well as the new Premier, under newly established Jeep-Eagle Division as a way to increase Jeep production and focus more money on marketing. The Eagle Vista was used on two subcompact cars sold from 1988 to 1992 in Canada. Along with the Eagle Summit, the car replaced the Renault Encore because of Renault withdrawing from the United States and Canada at that time. It was a rebadged version of the second generation Mitsubishi Mirage. The Vista hatchback and sedans were available with either a 1.5 L 4G15 straight-4, or a 1.6L turbocharged 4G32, and was available with either a 4 or 5-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic transmission. The Eagle Optima, was a 1990 concept car by the Eagle division of the Chrysler Corporation. It was a four-door sedan that used cab forward design. It was one of a series of concepts that lead up to the 1993 LH Eagle Vision and its siblings. The Optima's front fascia also inspired that of the 1995-1998 Eagle Talon.
