Is there anything better than a TV show that can make you laugh so hard that for a second you can’t breathe? That sort of gut-busting,watering-eyes sort of television comedy is one worth scheduling your week around. In 2013, many comedy shows stepped their game up and had their funniest season ever. Long lasting shows like Saturday Night Live, The Big Bang Theory,and Family Guy kept old fans and new fans laughing every week. Newer shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Mindy Project earned fans that will likely stick around for the long haul.

What were the funniest shows of 2013? Depending on your type of sense of humor, your biggest laugh-out-loud show probably differed greatly from other people. If your love traditional sitcoms with laugh tracks and bawdy jokes, shows like Two and a Half Men and 2 Broke Girls may have been your favorite. Those who love political humor may have enjoyed Parks and Recreation and Veep. Other sitcoms and comedy shows appealed to smaller audiences, but were no less funny.
