Poor baby boomers. Or not really. According to younger generations, the baby boomers (born from 1946 to 1964), have plenty of money socked away as they move into their retirement years. Baby boomers, others say, have benefited over the years from decent-paying jobs, retirement plans, cheaper housing and college tuition, and other financial security blankets not available to subsequent generations.
This financial disparity, and the stereotype that baby boomers tend to look down on everyone else as lazy and entitled (mainly millennials, who were born from 1981 to 1996), are the cause of much of the animosity toward them that plays out online in memes. Menwhile, younger people take a jab at baby boomers with memes that mock their contributions to environmental destruction, lack of computer savvy, and hypocrisy for chastising a generation they raised.
