Over the years, the Super Smash Bros. series has become something more than a simple love letter to Nintendo. What once started out as a simple party-game brawler on the N64 has evolved into a full-fledged celebration of video games. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the latest iteration on the Nintendo Switch, has certainly lived up to its name by adding new characters such as Cloud Strife, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Terry Bogard to the roster. Considering the crazy amount of fanservice within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it's no wonder the game has overtaken Street Fighter II as the best-selling fighting game of all time.
As a way of celebrating Super Smash Bros. and its incredible gaming legacy, Raf Grassetti illustrated a series of fan art that depicts the Nintendo characters in a highly-detailed manner. Grassetti, who art-directed the 2018 God of War game for PS4, delivered a stunning (and occasionally rather eerie) reinterpretation of Super Smash Bros. that must be seen to be believed.
