The 2019 Golden Globe Best Actor nominees for a musical or comedy category include: Christian Bale for his portrayal of Dick Cheney in Vice, Robert Redford in the biographical crime comedy film The Old Man & the Gun, Lin-Manuel Miranda in Mary Poppins Returns, John C. Reilly as Oliver Hardy in the biopic Stan & Ollie, and Viggo Mortensen in the comedy-drama Green Book.
In the Golden Globe's drama category, the actors include: Lucas Hedges, receiving his first Golden Globe nomination for Boy Erased, Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born, Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, Willem Dafoe for his work as Vincent van Gogh in At Eternity' Gate, and John David Washington in BlacKkKlansman.
