Which Fictional Goth Girl Are You Based On Your Zodiac?

No matter your gender, presentation, or relationship with darkness, we should all aspire to have a bit of goth girl in us. Who wouldn't want to be so bold, unafraid, intelligent, and spooky? The real question is, which type of goth girl are you? For quick and easy reference, each goth girl has her own zodiacal alignment - not all goths are built equally. Much like the rest of us, some goth girls are known for their Martian headstrong nature, while the more Venusian types may come across as more nurturing and luxurious. Some are in a league of their own, marching to the beat of their own drums. The goth girl zodiac celebrates the vast multitudes of goth girl personalities represented in the media and in ourselves. What you discover about your inner goth girl may frighten you!

  • Aries (March 21 - April 19): Lisbeth Salander From 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'
Photo: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo / Sony Pictures Releasing

Known for her singular hyper-focus on justice, Lisbeth Salander embodies the classic Aries approach to interpersonal relationships. For her and many other Aries, everything is a conquest, but there are many benefits to gaining her trust. Her reputation as a paranoid sociopath throughout the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy is short sighted as she experienced a great deal of trauma throughout her life, and Ariens do not tend to mince words or hide their true emotions. Salander is dedicated to whatever objective she sets for herself - on her own terms.

  • Taurus (April 20 - May 20): Ellie Nash From 'Degrassi: The Next Generation'

Ellie Nash spends much of her story arc seeking peace and stability, a deeply seated need for a Taurus. In the absence of the peace and long-lasting love she desires, Ellie grew dependent on self-harm behaviors to regulate her own reality. Despite her inner turmoil, Ellie has always been a dedicated friend, never afraid to provide support while issuing a reality check to whoever needs it.

  • Selina Kyle and her alter-ego, Catwoman, are as different as night and day. Kyle lives as a meek, soft-spoken secretary, while Catwoman is an unhinged vigilante with a questionable moral compass. As disparate as these two identities may seem, they synergize perfectly to create one complex individual, which is the heart of what it means to be a Gemini.

Ruled by the Twins, Geminis are known for their communicative skills and their often slippery, hard-to-pin-down nature. As Catwoman spends the greater portion of Batman Returns shooting witty barbs back and forth with Batman, just to disappear into the night, she is a true Gemini.

  • Sensitive and serious even in her youth, Lydia Deetz encapsulates the isolated plight of a young Cancer quite well. Her emotionality is a source of conflict between herself and her family, forcing her to turn inward and tend to her rich inner life. Despite the less than ideal terms of her independence, the Cancer-affected sensible and resourceful nature shines through to her benefit.

  • To put a curse on an infant out of pure spite for not being invited to a party is a typical Leo move. Brash, dramatic, but never too self-serious, Maleficent exhibits Leo behavior when she disguises her curse as the gift of Aurora being beautiful and well loved until the night before her 16th birthday, when she fell into a deep and permanent slumber. The drama of it all!

While not all Leos are vain, Maleficent and her ultimate fatal downfall are a cautionary tale for all Leos who let their egos get the best of them.

  • Virgo (August 23 - September 22): Abby Sciuto From 'NCIS'

Fastidious and handily capable at her difficult job, Abby Sciuto exudes Virgo energy. She relies on lethal amounts of caffeine in the form of her beloved Caf-Pow beverage to maximize her efficiency and workload capabilities. The Virgo inflexibility shines through when she flies into a panic when something goes differently than expected or when one of her team members gets injured. Sciuto has gotten the best of the Virgo tendency to self-martyr, choosing to be a team player and being one of the most well loved members of the ensemble as a result.
