The Calgary Flames were founded in 1972 in Atlanta Georgia as the Atlanta Flames. When the Colorado Avalanche joined the NHL in 1995, they did it in a big way. After moving from Quebec, where they were the Nordiques, they made the play-offs an insane nine times in ten years, and turned two of those playoff seasons into Stanley Cup wins. Two Stanley Cups is impressive on its own, but a 90% playoff showing is unheard of. The Dallas Stars were founded in 1967, and the greatest Dallas platers of all time have been both <a href="http://www.ranker.com/list/best-stars-goalies-ever/ranker-hockey" target="_blank">top Stars goalies</a> and top goalscorers.. Originally they were the Minnesota North Stars, relocating to Dallas in 1993. Dustin Brown

Since the team&#39;s inception in 1967, the Kings were known as one of the NHL&#39;s perennial disappointments and underacheiving teams in the league. Rick Nash

Richard McLaren Nash (born June 16, 1984) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger who played 15 seasons in the  National Hockey League for the Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers and Boston Bruins. Nash was selected with the first overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by Columbus. He currently serves as the Special Assistant to the GM for the Blue Jackets.
Drafted out of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) by the Blue Jackets first overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Nash played with the London Knights for two seasons, earning the Emms Family Award in 2001 as the League's Rookie of the Year. He began his NHL career with the Blue Jackets the season immediately following his draft, in 2002–03, and was nominated for the Calder Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year. In his second NHL season, Nash scored 41 goals to tie with Jarome Iginla and Ilya Kovalchuk for the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy as the NHL goal-scoring champion. Nash is also a five-time NHL All-Star and has been awarded the NHL Foundation Player Award in the 2008–09 for his work in the community.
Internationally, Nash has represented Team Canada, with whom he has won one gold and two silver medals at the World Championships, and two gold medals at the Winter Olympics in 2010 and 2014. Additionally, he has represented Canada at the 2002 World Junior Championships, helping the team to a silver medal, and also competed for Canada in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.

Sergei Andreyevich "Bob" Bobrovsky (Russian: Серге́й Андреевич "Боб" Бобровский; born 20 September 1988) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played in the NHL for the Philadelphia Flyers and Columbus Blue Jackets, with whom he became recognized as one of the NHL's top goaltenders. 
Bobrovsky won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top regular season goaltender for the 2012–13 season after posting a 21–11–6 record and a .932 save percentage and again for the 2016–17 season, where he posted a 41–17–5 record and a .931 save percentage.

Jared Seth Jones is an American professional ice hockey defenseman. He is currently playing with the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League. Jones was selected by the Predators in the 1st round, 4th overall, at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Jones spent two years playing for the United States National Team Development Program before playing junior hockey. He was originally drafted by the Everett Silvertips, but chose not to play for them. Believing Jones would choose to play college hockey, Everett traded Jones' negotiation rights to Portland. After the Winterhawks signed Jones, they traded four players to the Silvertips to officially complete the trade.
Jones has represented the United States several times internationally. He won back to back gold medals at the 2011 and 2012 IIHF World U18 Championships. He was a member of the 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships team that won gold. Prior to that tournament he boasted that the Americans had the best team despite Canada's heavily favored squad.
Born in Arlington, Texas, he is the son of former National Basketball Association player Popeye Jones.

Cam Atkinson

Cameron Thomas Atkinson (born June 5, 1989) is an American professional ice hockey player who is currently an alternate captain for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Atkinson was selected by the Blue Jackets in the sixth round, 157th overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Although smaller than most forwards in the NHL, he is known for his great speed, soft hands and excellent shooting skills.

Artemi Panarin

Artemy Sergeyevich Panarin is a Russian professional ice hockey winger who currently plays for SKA Saint Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League.
He scored two goals in the final of 2011 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, including the game-winner as the Russia beat Canada 5-3 to take gold medals.

Nicholas Foligno (born October 31, 1987) is an American-Canadian professional ice hockey center currently serving as the captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Foligno previously played for the Ottawa Senators, the team that drafted him in the first round, 28th overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. His father, Mike Foligno, also played in the NHL, as does his brother, current Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno.

Sergei Fedorov

Sergei Viktorovich Fyodorov (Серге́й Викторович Фёдоров; born December 13, 1969) is a Russian former professional ice hockey player and the current general manager of CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). During his playing career, Fedorov was primarily a centre, but occasionally played as a winger or defenceman.
Fedorov gained fame in the National Hockey League (NHL) for his unique style of play with the Detroit Red Wings, with whom he won the Stanley Cup three times, as well as the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player in 1994. After a highly publicized departure from the Red Wings in the summer of 2003, Fedorov played stints with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Columbus Blue Jackets and Washington Capitals before retiring from the NHL in 2009. He played in over 1,200 NHL games and scored 483 goals in the NHL. He is a three-time Olympian, the first European-trained player to win the Hart Trophy and is considered to be one of the best playoff performers in NHL history. In 2017, Fedorov was named one of the "100 Greatest NHL Players" in history.Fedorov was considered one of the best players in the world in the 1990s leading into the early 2000s. He last played for Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL, where he was made captain in early September 2011. He was also an ambassador for Russia at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Fedorov was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 9, 2015, and to the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 2016.

Boone Jenner

Boone Jenner (born June 15, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player and alternate captain for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Jenner was selected by Columbus in the second round, 37th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Ryan Johansen

Ryan Johansen (born July 31, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre, and alternate captain for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Growing up, he played minor hockey in the Greater Vancouver area until joining the junior ranks with the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for one season. In 2009–10, he moved to the major junior level with the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League (WHL). After his first WHL season, he was selected fourth overall by the Blue Jackets in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Internationally, he has competed for the Canadian national junior team at the 2011 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, where he earned a silver medal and was named to the Tournament All-Star Team. In 2015, he participated in the 2015 NHL Skills Competition and was named the 2015 NHL All-Star Game MVP.

David Savard

David Savard (born October 22, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the fourth round, 94th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Adam David Vernon Foote (born July 10, 1971) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was best known for his physical presence and gritty play as a stay-at-home defenceman.
Foote was drafted out of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) 22nd overall in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft by the Quebec Nordiques. He began his National Hockey League (NHL) career with the Nordiques in 1991–92 before relocating with the franchise to Colorado, where he won two Stanley Cups in 1996 and 2001. In 2005, Foote signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets, where he served as team captain for three seasons. He then returned to the Avalanche in 2008 via trade, where he would eventually complete his playing career. Foote was the last active NHL player from the Quebec Nordiques.
Internationally, Foote won a gold medal in 2002 Winter Olympics and a World Cup championship in 2004 with Team Canada.After his playing career, he began coaching with the Avalanche. He was named the head coach of the Kelowna Rockets in 2018.

Derick Brassard

Derick Brassard (born September 22, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre currently playing for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL).
He has also played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers and Colorado Avalanche. The Blue Jackets selected him in the first round, sixth overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Rostislav Klesla

Rostislav "Rusty" Klesla (born March 21, 1982) is a Czech former professional ice hockey defenceman. Klesla was selected fourth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, making him the first ever pick in an entry draft by the Blue Jackets. He has also played in the NHL with the Phoenix Coyotes.

Joseph Marc Denis (born August 1, 1977) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender, who last played with the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). For the 2009–10 season, he was hired as the goaltenders' coach of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) team. He is currently working as a colour analyst for the Francophone Canadian sports station, RDS.

Antoine Vermette (born July 20, 1982) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played for 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Vermette played in the NHL for the Ottawa Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks. Drafted in the second round, 55th overall in 2000 by Ottawa, Vermette was a member of the 2007 Senators team that appeared in the 2007 Stanley Cup Final. Vermette won the Stanley Cup in 2015 with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Drafted in the third round, 75th overall, by Montreal in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Beauchemin won a Stanley Cup in 2007 with the Ducks.

Steve Mason

Steve Mason (born May 29, 1988) is a Canadian professional goaltender who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He was selected 69th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Playing major junior in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Mason spent three seasons with the London Knights and Kitchener Rangers. In the 2006–07 season, he was named OHL Goaltender of the Year. He joined the Blue Jackets in 2008–09 and won the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year. Internationally, he won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2008 World Junior Championships while earning tournament MVP and Best Goaltender honours.

Marián Gáborík

Marián Gáborík  (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈmaɾijaːn ˈɡaːbɔɾiːk]; born 14 February 1982) is a Slovak professional ice hockey right winger currently under contract with the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He began his playing career in the Slovak Extraliga with Dukla Trenčín for two seasons before being drafted third overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild, becoming the highest drafted Slovak player in NHL history. Spending eight seasons with the Wild before signing with the New York Rangers in 2009, Gáborík is the Wild's all-time leading scorer in goals. He has also played for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings. On 13 June 2014, Gáborík won his first Stanley Cup while playing for the Kings.
Internationally, Gáborík is a two-time Olympian with Slovakia and has won a bronze medal at the 1999 World Junior Championships.
