The Greatest Formula One Drivers Ever

Who is the greatest Formula One driver of all time? This definitive list covers not just who drove in the fastest car, but who was the most influential, history-altering driver that has ever graced the most demanding of sports. These are the best Formula One drivers ever, including the late, great Ayrton Senna, who died way too young under horrible circumstances. The sport is incredibly dangerous and the participants are incredibly brave. Fatal formula 1 car crashes are unfortunately common. Since Formula One's opening season in 1950 to the present decade an incredible array of talent has appeared, shone and even died in the hands of an F1 car. But, who is the best driver to ever race Formula One? Which Formula One racers do you love?

Some of the legendary Formula One drivers include Michael Schumacher, Niki Lauda, and current Formula One star Lewis Hamilton. These Formula One champions have defined the sport for decades. Other Formula One greats like Juan Manuel Fangio, Alain Prost, and Sebastian Vettel deserve their champagne and roses as well. Where will Max Verstappen end up among the greats when all is said and done?

Vote for the F1 driver you believe deserves the top spot, and vote down anyone you don't think should be listed. You can also re-rank this list in any order you want.
