    Nicholas Rodney Drake (19 June 1948 – 25 November 1974) was an English singer-songwriter known for his acoustic guitar-based songs. Though he failed to find a wide audience during his lifetime, his work has since achieved wider recognition.Drake signed to Island Records when he was 20, while a student at the University of Cambridge. He released his debut album, Five Leaves Left, in 1969, followed by the jazzier, more upbeat Bryter Layter (1971) and the sparse Pink Moon (1972). Active since 1986, Santiago is best known as the lead guitarist for the American alternative rock band the Pixies.
