    After moving to Salem, Mass., teenager Max Dennison (Omri Katz) explores an abandoned house with his sister Dani (Thora Birch) and their new friend, Allison (Vinessa Shaw). After dismissing a story Allison tells as superstitious, Max accidentally frees a coven of evil witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy) who used to live in the house. Now, with the help of a magical cat, the kids must steal the witches' book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal.

  • The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad

    Grab the popcorn and get ready for this classic double feature that is a great Disney+ Halloween movie. It also serves as a great introduction to the short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving. While Mr. Toad's segment is not as scary, it's still an excellent short for you kids to watch.

    Two animated adaptations of classic literature make up this Disney film. In "The Wind in the Willows," wealthy Mr. Toad (Eric Blore) yearns for all the newest fads. When he wants an automobile, Mr. Toad sets out to get one any way he can. In "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," gangly schoolmaster Ichabod Crane falls for the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel. Caught in a love triangle with Katrina and Brom Bones, Ichabod fears a local legend called the Headless Horseman.

  • The Haunted Mansion is the perfect Disney+ movie on Halloween. You'll relive the classic Disneyland ride while enjoying Eddie Murphy in this family friendly role. While it recieved mostly negative reviews from critics upon its release, you're kids are sure to give a thumbs up.

    Workaholic real estate agent Jim Evers (Eddie Murphy) is accused by his wife, Sara (Marsha Thomason), of neglecting his son (Marc John Jefferies) and daughter (Aree Davis), so he takes the family on a vacation. Along the way, the family stops off at a sinister mansion that Jim has been asked to sell, only to discover it's haunted by Master Gracey (Nathaniel Parker) ; his stern butler, Ramsley (Terence Stamp) ; and two other servants who need some help breaking a curse.

    Relive your youth alongside your children as you show them this Disney channel movie classic. Halloweentown spawned a franchise that spanned several films.   • Escape to Witch Mountain

    While this is far more of a sci-fi movie than it is a scary movie, there are definitely some moments that will give your kids a fright. You definitely need to watch this film this Halloween, especially if your kids are fan of the new Race to Witch Mountain, feature Dwayne Johnson, which is also available on Disney+.

    Tony (Ike Eisenmann) and Tia Malone (Kim Richards) are two orphaned siblings with extraordinary psychic powers. When their abilities attract the attention of a cruel millionaire, Aristotle Bolt (Ray Milland), he kidnaps them with plans to exploit their powers for financial gain. Tony and Tia escape, and with the help of Jason O'Day (Eddie Albert), a bitter widower camping in a nearby Winnebago, they attempt to elude Bolt and begin to discover their otherworldly origins.

  • The Black Cauldron

    Consider by some to be the darkest of Disney's animated features, The Black Cauldron makes for a great Disney+ movie to watch on or near Halloween. Despite being a bit spookier than other Disney movies, The Black Cauldron still retains those great moments of having an unlikely hero rise to the occasion.

    In the land of Prydain, lowly pig herder Taran (Grant Bardsley) dreams of becoming a gallant knight. Young Taran receives his heroic calling when the evil Horned King (John Hurt) kidnaps Hen-Wren, a prophesying pig that had been entrusted to Taran. Now, with help from his furry sidekick Gurgi and Princess Eilonwy, Taran must locate the magical black cauldron before the Horned King is able to use its mystical powers to summon an army of the undead.
