    Orphan of Kos

Widely considered to be not only the hardest boss in Bloodborne, but the hardest boss in the entire Soulsborne franchise, Orphan of Kos is the ultimate challenge for anyone who dares to cross his path. Leaving no room for error, players are nearly lulled into a false sense of security when they enter his lush boss arena, however, this beauty doesn't last long. Kos charges at the players right after from the calm and eerie intro and they will soon understand why Kos is arguably the most aggressive boss players will face in Bloodborne. His attacks come swiftly, erratically, and all with similar windups, forcing players to pay precise attention in order to have any chance at dodging them. His disgusting figure and spine-curdling screams simply add to the terror of this fight, and by the time players reach their second phase, the aggression and torment only become more pronounced. This fight is not for the faint of heart, but for those hunters who defeat Kos, the glory is all the sweeter.

    Ludwig the Accursed

Arguably one of the most disturbing and disgusting bosses in a game filled to the brim with the sort, Ludwig the Accursed is the ultimate introduction to the Old Hunters DLC and showed that FromSoftware came for the throat of Hunters around the globe. This massive Hunter turned horrifying creature will test the patience and timing of players to the likes we have yet to see in Bloodborne. Ultra-aggressive himself, Hunters will need to match Ludwig's vigor if they want any chance to defeat the beast. While his first phase is difficult enough, it is only when players reach the halfway mark and set off his second phase that the true battle begins. Wielding a massive sword that encompasses nearly a quarter of the battlefield and deals nearly insta-kill AOE attacks, Hunters will need to pull out all the tricks they have in order to survive this fight.

    Martyr Logarius

Arguably the most beautiful battle in all of Bloodborne, the juxtaposition of the gorgeous landscape and the nightmare-inducing demeanor of Martyr Logarius is a feast for the mind. A rare spellcaster that Hunters have to face off against in the series, Logarius' duality of magic and melee via his daunting scythe is as frightening as it is amazing. While keeping a distance from him may be deemed a fair strategy for his first phase, it is the second where all hell breaks loose. Suddenly taking to the air and flying around like a masochistic grim reaper with wings, Logarius grows in power and speed on top of his already masterful spellcasting. Arguably one of the more memorable fights in all of Bloodborne due to the vast juxtaposition of beauty from the rest of the game, Logarius is a must-see optional boss for all Soulsborne fans.

    Gehrman, The First Hunter

The final foe in Bloodborne, Gehrman, The First Hunter is the perfect culmination and amalgamation of every fight Hunters have had to endure throughout this nightmarish fever dream. Ferociously strong, deceptively quick, and acquiring a vast and extensive repertoire of attacks, Hunters will have to use pure skill in order to stand a chance against him in this multi-phased fight. Replicating Hunters' moves of the past, this painstaking fight not only has the weight of relentless combat on its back but also deals a heavy emotional toll. Widely regarded as one of the most emotional fights in the Soulsborne series, it is the lore and storytelling during and before the fight begins that elevate this battle to new heights. From the agony of battle to the heartbreak of defeat, Gehrman is undoubtedly one of the most iconic fights in Bloodborne.

Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower

A masterclass in combat and storytelling, the battle against Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower is as horrific as it is poetic. This former heroic hunter's three-phased onslaught beautifully showcases heartbreaking storytelling as Hunters see the once noble warrior slowly casting aside all of her morals, decaying further and further into madness. Beginning with a relatively simple and standard fight, the true horror begins throughout the second and third phases. The warrior who despised blood-arts suddenly gives into the madness of the world and succumbs to them as Hunters slowly eat away at her life bar. Becoming more unhinged and aggressive as the fight goes on, attacks come at a breakneck pace and suddenly both fire and blood attacks are introduced to the fold. By the end of the fight, Hunters will undoubtedly feel a massive sense of accomplishment and heartache as they defeat this fallen hero.

    Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos

    Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos
    Photo: Bloodborne/Fromsoftware

Arguably the most disgusting and horrifying abominations to ever be put on screen, Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos uses this visual style to become one of the most memorable battles in all of Bloodborne. A truly unique and imaginative boss fight, Ebrietas uses its deformities and grotesqueness in the fight to often overwhelm and startle Hunters. Her high-speed attacks and powerful strikes seemingly come from any and every direction and Hunters have no discernable way of knowing where the front, back, or sides of her even are. Using these horrifying tactics Ebrietas also has massive laser beam attacks as well as the ability to summon large arcane missiles that will hunt down Hunters. The only true way to take her down is to slash and attack her, what appears to be her head, Hunters will have to get down and dirty in order to put this nightmarish creature down.
