Dumbledore Set Up Ron's Becoming Best Friends With Harry

    From Redditor u/CollectandRun:

I believe Dumbledore saw into the future and knew that Ron & Hermione were a couple that was bound to happen and have a pretty strong family of their own one day.

Think about the first thing we really know about James & Lily. They both died sacrificing themselves for Harry. What happens in the final chapters of the book? Ron & Hermione, out of love, offer to sacrifice themselves in both of their preferred challenges for Harry to move on and defeat Voldemort. These are sacrifices they make like parents. Not kids. Not friends. Hogwarts is a boarding school, but the one thing that Harry lacked to get through school was an experience in a normal family dynamic. He doesn't have parents to rely on when it came through emotional turmoil. Instead, he's given the next best thing. Two people who provide that for him that will (together) be parents one day. In many ways, Ron & Hermione not only saved Harry from various plots to end his life - but they kept him from reaching a darkness that any orphan dealing with trauma might go through --- the same kind that tormented Tom Riddle.

Despite being young, there is a fatherly & motherly love that Ron and Hermione bring to Harry that he never had. Ron teaches him how to socialize, play games, and make light on dark topics. Hermione keeps him up to date on what he must learn, helps him deal with complex problems and worries about him.

They fearlessly nag with each other, often over what Harry should do. In the first 3-4 books they are almost like new parents, focusing on Harry - searching for him when he's gone, talking about him relentlessly.

Harry And Ron Made More Sense In Other Houses

    From Redditor u/ElephantErik:

We all know that Harry had fitting qualities to place him into Slytherin, but he instead chose to go to Gryffindor where he could be with his new friends.

Hermione is probably the smartest student of her class and really should have been a Ravenclaw. We don't know if she desired to be in Gryffindor to be close to Ron and Harry, or perhaps she wanted to be in the house where the founder fought for muggle-born wizards. This wouldn't be beyond her knowledge at this point.

Ron is totally a Hufflepuff, he doesn't exactly radiate courage and he isn't all that smart. It's because of all his siblings having been in Gryffindor that he chose to continue the tradition and be close to his friends and family. Plus his brothers would have more ammo to use on him if he ended up somewhere different.

I like to think of this as somewhat poetic that the sorting hat took strong candidates from 3 very different houses and placed them into the same house by their own choice or even because they new each other and would be the best fit for all of them. If there is any evidence to dispute any of this, I invite discussion.

Dumbledore Is Ron In The Future Helping Harry Out

    From Redditor u/greenfingers559:

To summarize, the resemblances between Dumbledore and Ron are uncanny. From favorite foods, to scars, memories of mom, and childhood dreams. The original author of the theory goes into great detail comparing the two. We already know time travel exists in the Wizarding World. A snag though is that the theory was written in 2006 before the final two books were released and revealed Dumbledore’s past, but I believe if he traveled back in time early enough this could be accounted for.

Harry And Ron Are Actually Incredibly Powerful Psychics

    From Redditor u/minisaladfresh:

Throughout the Harry Potter books, Divination class is regarded as something of a joke, particularly by Harry and Ron, but it seems barely anybody takes it seriously. In Prisoner of Azkaban, Professor McGonagall scoffs at the prediction of Harry's imminent death, claiming that Professor Trelawney predicts a student's death every year and has never been right before. Even Professor Dumbledore himself states that Professor Trelawney's total number of genuine predictions is three.

Harry and Ron make no secret of the fact that they don't have any interest (or even belief) in Divination, and Professor Trelawney tells them several times that they 'do not possess the inner eye' - at least until they discover that the best way to get good marks in the subject is by appealing to Trelawney's love of doom and gloom by pretending to predict their own deaths and suffering.

However, despite Harry and Ron not even believing in Divination, and Professor Trelawney's insistence that they do not possess 'the gift' required to 'gaze into the future' there is actually a surprising amount of evidence that they are two of the most gifted mystics in the Wizarding World.

Despite Being Gryffindors, Harry And Ron Both Represent Other Hogwarts Houses

    From a former Redditor:

I've never seen this theory on here, so I figured I'd share. Sorry if I just missed it.

Harry: Harry represents Slytherin. He's ambitious and willing to do whatever it takes to reach his ends. Stealing a hippogriff, tricking Ron into thinking he'd taken liquid luck and traveling England to stop the dark lord. Just a few examples or Harry's willingness to go to extremes.

Ron: Ron represents Hufflepuff. He's loyal to Harry throughout the series, despite Harry's consistently hair brained schemes. He may have his faults. But he always returns to his friend.

Hermione: Hermione represents Ravenclaw. She's beyond smart, loves learning and can solve most any problem. She represents my own house so much, I always wondered why she wasn't in it.
