The "ever dreamed this man" meme began with people around the world telling their psychiatrists they dreamed of a man. At some point, notes were compared because all of those patients dreamed of the same man, seen above. No one could give a reasoning as to why this man appeared in so many patients' dreams; some theorized him to be a Jungian archetype of the subconscious, others hypothesized a deity or dream-surfer inserting themselves into peoples' dreams.

This creepy meme spread and became the topic of creepypastas, eventually to be dismissed as a mere marketing hoax. Despite its debunking, the stories stayed around on sites like Reddit, Facebook, and Creepypasta, and they can be read below.

This Man

From Creepypasta:

"In January 2006 in New York, the patient of a well-known psychiatrist draws the face of a man that has been repeatedly appearing in her dreams. In more than one occasion that man has given her advice on her private life. The woman swears she has never met the man in her life.

That portrait lies forgotten on the psychiatrist’s desk for a few days until one day another patient recognizes that face and says that the man has often visited him in his dreams. He also claims he has never seen that man in his waking life.

The psychiatrist decides to send the portrait to some of his colleagues that have patients with recurrent dreams. Within a few months, four patients recognize the man as a frequent presence in their own dreams. All the patients refer to him as "this man."

From January 2006 until today, at least 2000 people have claimed they have seen this man in their dreams, in many cities all over the world: Los Angeles, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Tehran, Beijing, Rome, Barcelona, Stockholm, Paris, New Delhi, Moskow etc.

At the moment there is no ascertained relation or common trait among the people that have dreamed of seeing this man. Moreover, no living man has ever been recognized as resembling the man of the portrait by the people who have seen this man in their dreams."

He Can Be Pleasurable

From this man's official website:

"I have never had homosexual relationships or even fantasies. But I dream about having sexing with this man all the time. I must admit he has a lot of imagination and he pleases me. Sometimes when I wake up I discover I have had a nocturnal emission."

Head Records Clerk

From Reddit user Sledge 420:

"There was some kind of reality bender Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) and I was doing research on that had broken containment and was rumored to live down in records and administration. This Man was the head clerk down there, and lead me to the archives. Weirdest thing I've ever seen, like a whole warehouse sunk into the floor.

I found a developmentally disabled older man working down there, complete with a yellow padded helmet (like the kind they make the contestants wear on American Gladiators). As I'm snooping, the older man drops the disguise and throws the both of us higher in the structure. Up becomes down, black becomes white, other SCiPs are breaking containment everywhere and this bender dives onto me and pushes the both of us through an elevator shaft.

At that moment, on pure instinct I grab this reality-bender by the bottom jaw and start to pull. It rips free and I find myself on the floor of the elevator with nothing but a human jawbone in my hand.

Back down to records. The Facility no longer looks quite right. Little details are off. This Man is still behind the desk, looks at me like he'd never seen me before and asks 'Can I help you?' Notably, This Man had been wearing glasses and was clean shaven before. Now there are no glasses and he's rocking a Van-Dyke. I show him the jawbone and tell him what I had come down there for. He smiles and says 'Thought I remembered you', and pulls out an envelope, hands it to me. I unseal it and I read a transcript of the conversation we had just had. This Man smiles and says 'They always leave something behind.'

Then I woke up."

As Elusive As Santa

From this man's official site:

"I saw this man in my dream, dressed as Santa Klaus. When he showed up I felt so happy, just like when I was a little girl. Then he smiled at me and his head became a balloon, floating in the air above me, but no matter how hard I tried to catch it, I just couldn't reach it."
