There’s nothing as scary and exciting as an explosion caught on camera. Whether a blaze occurs naturally and wipes out everything for 10 miles, or a man-made explosion blows up a house, it’s always fun to blow stuff up. Horrible explosions happen more often than you’d think, and the really crazy explosions tend to happen with little to no warning. For instance, it’s easy enough to avoid a giant fertilizer explosion. If you see an industrial plant that’s on fire, just go the other way. But if you’re on the highway and a hazmat truck explodes in front of you, there’s not really anything you can do other than pray that you have good brakes and a dash cam.

People love that satisfying feeling that comes from watching a giant explosion lay waste to a small part of the world. Maybe it’s the tiny caveman that exists in all of us, but the destructive nature of fire is a truly awesome thing to behold. While you watch these videos of horrific explosions caught on camera, remember that your first instinct when you witness an explosion should be to run, not whip out your camera and start filming. Some other dummy will handle that for you.

What kind of random explosions scare you the most? Tell us about it in the comments.

In 2015, two massive explosions occurred in Tianjin, China about 30 seconds apart from each other, killing more than 200 people and injuring hundreds more. No one knows exactly what caused the explosions, but they occurred in a warehouse that contained hazardous and flammable chemicals, including calcium carbide, sodium cyanide, potassium nitrate, ammonium nitrate and sodium nitrate, so that probably had something to do with it.
