Kike Hernandez

Enrique Javier Hernández is a Puerto Rican professional baseball utility player for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Houston Astros and Miami Marlins. His nickname is Kike, sometimes spelled Kiké during English-language television broadcasts to prevent it from being confused with a derogatory slur that has a different pronunciation. While he is most experienced as an outfielder, he has played every position except catcher.

The Houston Astros drafted Hernandez in the sixth round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. He earned a $150,000 signing bonus. In 2009 he played primarily second base and third base, and in 2010 he played exclusively second base.

He was called up to the majors for the first time on July 1, 2014. He made his major league debut the same day, entering a game against the Seattle Mariners as a defensive replacement in the seventh inning and collecting two hits, the first of which was a ground rule double in his first at-bat off Dominic Leone of the Mariners. He hit his first home run the following day off Chris Young of the Mariners. In 24 games, he hit .284 for the Astros.

Kris Bryant

Kristopher Lee Bryant (born January 4, 1992) is an American professional baseball third baseman and outfielder for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). Prior to playing professionally, Bryant attended the University of San Diego, where he played college baseball for the Toreros. Bryant starred in baseball for Bonanza High School. In college, he was named an All-American in 2012 and 2013, and won the Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award in 2013. The Cubs selected him with the second overall selection in the 2013 MLB draft and he quickly became one of the top prospects in baseball, winning the USA Today Minor League Player of the Year Award and Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year Award in 2014. Bryant made his major league debut in 2015. He was named an MLB All-Star and won the National League's (NL) Rookie of the Year Award. He was again named an All-Star in 2016, won a World Series championship with the Cubs, and was named the NL's Most Valuable Player.

Cody Bellinger

Cody James Bellinger (born July 13, 1995) is an American professional baseball first baseman and outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was named an All-Star and the National League's Rookie of the Year in 2017, and won the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 2019. Bellinger is the son of Clay Bellinger, who also played in MLB. Bellinger was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft and signed with them on June 13, 2013, for a $700,000 signing bonus, despite a verbal commitment to play college baseball at the University of Oregon. He made his professional debut with the Arizona League Dodgers, batting .210 in 195 plate appearances. He had some difficulty making contact in his first pro season, striking out 46 times in 47 games but scouts said he showed promise and had lots of power potential.

James Thomas McCann is an American professional baseball catcher for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball. Prior to beginning his professional career, he played college baseball at the University of Arkansas. McCann has also competed for the United States national baseball team.

Nolan Arenado

Nolan James Arenado (born April 16, 1991) is an American professional baseball third baseman for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the Rockies in 2013. Arenado has been considered among the top third basemen in the league both for his contributions as a hitter for power and average, as well as his defensive range and arm strength. He is the only infielder to win the Rawlings Gold Glove Award in each of his first seven MLB seasons. A native of Newport Beach, California, Arenado attended El Toro High School in nearby Lake Forest before becoming the Rockies' second-round selection in the 2009 MLB draft. A five-time MLB All-Star, his defensive accolades (in addition to his seven Gold Gloves) include three consecutive of both the Fielding Bible and Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Awards for his position, as well as three consecutive Rawlings Platinum Gloves.

Maximilian Kepler-Różycki (born February 10, 1993) is a German professional baseball outfielder for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2015. Before signing with the Twins, he played for Buchbinder Legionäre Regensburg of Bundesliga. He is left-handed. He holds the record for home runs hit in a career by a German-born player. Kepler was born in Berlin, Germany. His parents, Kathy Kepler and Marek Różycki, were both professional ballet dancers; they met when they performed in the same ballet company in Berlin.[2] His mother is from San Antonio, Texas, while his father is from Poland. He has one sister. Kepler signed a 5 year, $35 million contract on February 14, 2019. He won his second American League Player of the Week award for the week of May 26th, he led the MLB that week in batting average, on base percentage and slugging percentage with a line of .571/.600/1.190.

Chris Taylor

Christopher Armand Taylor Jr. is an American professional baseball outfielder/infielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He attended the University of Virginia, and played college baseball for the Virginia Cavaliers. Taylor was selected in the fifth round of the 2012 MLB Draft, and made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners on July 24, 2014. He was selected as the co-most valuable player of the 2017 National League Championship Series. He began his professional career in Minor League Baseball at the Rookie level, but was soon promoted to Class A, primarily playing shortstop. In 2013, Taylor played for the High Desert Mavericks of the Class A-Advanced California League and Jackson Generals of the Class AA Southern League, finishing the season with a combined .314 batting average, 165 hits (eight-best in Minor League Baseball), eight home runs, 60 runs batted in (RBIs), 108 runs scored, and 38 stolen bases while playing shortstop and second base.

Eric Hosmer

Eric John Hosmer (born October 24, 1989) is an American professional baseball first baseman for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB for the Kansas City Royals from 2011 through 2017.
A highly touted prospect coming out of American Heritage High School in Florida, Hosmer was described as a "left-handed hitter with raw power" by scouts. The Royals selected him with third overall pick in the 2008 MLB draft, and he received a $6 million signing bonus. He advanced in Minor League Baseball before debuting in MLB during the 2011 season. He finished third in the Rookie of the Year balloting after the 2011 season after hitting .293 with 19 home runs in 128 games. Hosmer won consecutive Gold Glove Awards from 2013 through 2015 and again in 2017, when he also won the Silver Slugger Award. He was the MVP of the 2016 MLB All-Star Game, and was a member of the 2015 World Series champions.
After the 2017 season, Hosmer became a free agent, and signed an eight-year contract with the San Diego Padres.

Markus Lynn "Mookie" Betts (born October 7, 1992) is an American professional baseball right fielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Boston Red Sox. In 2018 he became the first player in MLB history to win the Most Valuable Player, Silver Slugger, Gold Glove, batting title, and World Series in the same season. Betts was drafted by the Red Sox in 2011, and made his MLB debut in the 2014 season, splitting time between second base and the outfield. He became the Red Sox center fielder in 2014, before moving to right field in 2016. As a relatively short natural second baseman with a high contact rate and a high level of production when pulling the ball, Betts has been compared to fellow Red Sox player Dustin Pedroia.

Betts is also a professional tenpin bowler for the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). He bowled a perfect game in the World Series of Bowling.[6]

Corey Seager

Corey Drew Seager (born April 27, 1994) is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Dodgers selected Seager in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft, and made his major league debut in 2015. Seager was the 2016 NL Rookie of the Year and was named an MLB All-Star in his first two seasons in the majors. Seager attended Northwest Cabarrus High School in Kannapolis, North Carolina. He committed to attend the University of South Carolina on a college baseball scholarship. The Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB) selected Seager in the first round with the 18th overall selection of the 2012 MLB draft. He received a $2.35 million signing bonus to sign with the Dodgers instead of attending South Carolina.

Christian Yelich

Christian Stephen Yelich (born December 5, 1991) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Miami Marlins. The Marlins selected Yelich in the first round of the 2010 MLB draft. He made his major league debut for the Marlins in 2013, and was traded to the Brewers in the 2017-18 offseason. Yelich won a Gold Glove Award in 2014, the Silver Slugger Award in 2016 and 2018, and the National League's Most Valuable Player Award in 2018. Yelich played for the United States national baseball team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. Following the conclusion of the tournament, he was named to the All-World Baseball Classic team. On September 10, 2018, he was selected to play with the MLB All-Stars at the 2018 MLB Japan All-Star Series, but he later withdrew from the event. Yelich appeared in an episode of Magnum P.I. that aired on March 4, 2019.

Freddie Freeman

Frederick Charles Freeman (born September 12, 1989) is a Canadian-American professional baseball first baseman for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has been with the Braves organization since he was drafted by them out of high school in 2007. He made his MLB debut in 2010 and is a four-time MLB All-Star. Freeman won his first Gold Glove Award following the 2018 season, and his first Silver Slugger Award at the conclusion of the 2019 season. The Atlanta Braves selected Freeman in the second round, with the 78th overall selection, of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. Freeman signed with the team for $409,500, foregoing his college scholarship.[6] He was the Braves' fifth-best prospect heading into the 2009 season, according to Baseball America,[7] and the 11th-best prospect overall in their mid-season top 25.

Anthony Vincent Rizzo (born August 8, 1989) is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played in MLB for the San Diego Padres. He is a three-time All-Star. Through his philanthropic ventures, he is a regular finalist for the Heart and Hustle award and is considered by many to be one of the most respected players in Major League Baseball. Rizzo was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the sixth round of the 2007 MLB draft and became a top minor league prospect in the Red Sox organization. He was traded to the San Diego Padres after the 2010 season along with three other prospects in exchange for All-Star first baseman Adrián González. He made his MLB debut in 2011 with San Diego.

Javier Báez

Ednel Javier Báez (born December 1, 1992), nicknamed "El Mago" (Spanish for "The Magician"), is a Puerto Rican professional baseball shortstop and second baseman for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). Born in Puerto Rico, Báez attended high school in Jacksonville, Florida. The Cubs selected Báez with the ninth overall selection of the 2011 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2014. Báez was named the National League Championship Series co-MVP alongside left-handed starter Jon Lester as the Chicago Cubs clinched their 2016 National League pennant en route to winning the 2016 World Series. He is a two-time All-Star, and has also won the Silver Slugger Award. The Chicago Cubs, led by Jim Hendry, selected Báez in the first round, with the ninth overall selection, of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. He began his professional career by playing shortstop for the Arizona Cubs of the Rookie-level Arizona League.

J. D. Martinez

Julio Daniel Martinez (born August 21, 1987) is an American professional baseball outfielder and designated hitter for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played in MLB for the Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers, and Arizona Diamondbacks. A right-handed thrower and batter, Martinez stands 6 feet 3 inches (1.91 m) tall and weighs 221 pounds (100 kg). A native of Miami, Florida, Martinez was selected by the Astros in the 20th round with the 611th pick in the 2009 amateur draft from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). He is a two-time selection for the MLB All-Star Game and a three-time Silver Slugger Award winner, as well as the only player to earn the latter honor twice in the same season. On September 4, 2017, Martinez became the 18th player in MLB history to hit four home runs in a single game, doing so versus the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Gerald Dempsey "Buster" Posey III (born March 27, 1987) is an American professional baseball catcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. Posey has also filled in at first base for the Giants.
Posey was born in Leesburg, Georgia. He played four sports in high school; when playing baseball, he excelled at hitting and pitching. He attended Florida State University, where he began playing the catcher and first base positions. He won the Golden Spikes Award in 2008 and was selected by the Giants with the fifth overall pick in the 2008 Major League Baseball draft. Posey made his major league debut on September 11, 2009. After starting the 2010 season in the minor leagues, he was called back up to the major leagues in May. With the presence of then full-time catcher Bengie Molina, Posey played first base when originally called up to the majors, but became the Giants' regular catcher at the end of June when Molina was traded to the Texas Rangers, the team the Giants later faced in the World Series.
As a rookie, he finished with a .305 batting average, 18 home runs, and 67 runs batted in. He was named the National League (NL) Rookie of the Year. He caught every inning of the playoffs as the Giants won the 2010 World Series. In 2011, Posey missed most of the year after he was severely injured in a collision with Scott Cousins at home plate.
Posey returned from his injury in 2012 and posted a .336 batting average to win the 2012 NL batting title. He became the second San Francisco Giant to win the batting title and was named the NL Most Valuable Player for 2012. He won his second World Series that year as the Giants swept the Detroit Tigers in four games. In 2013, Posey signed a franchise record eight-year, $167 million contract extension with the Giants. He won his third World Series the following year as the Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals. In 2016, he won his first Gold Glove award after an excellent defensive season.

Fernando Gabriel Tatís Medina (born January 2, 1999) (nicknamed "El Niño") is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). Originally signed by the Chicago White Sox, he was traded to the Padres at age 17 before ever playing a professional game. Generally ranked among the top three prospects in minor league baseball, Tatís made his MLB debut with San Diego in 2019 after making their Opening Day roster.
