21 Easter Eggs Hidden in 'Jurassic World'

Jurassic World did the near impossible. It made you feel the nostalgia of Jurassic Park, the excitement of The Lost World, and pretty much ignored Jurassic Park III. It was a $200 million dollar love letter from a very talented fan to the franchise itself. And you better believe there were lots of Jurassic Park Easter eggs hidden throughout.

The film had so many moments where you not only remembered what made you love the series in the first place but virtually relive them in a new, updated way. Don't get us wrong, the first film is a classic and can't be touched. But any time a film stands up to an iconic movie like Jurassic Park it should be praised. How many fourth installments in a film franchise are watchable, much less improvements (in some ways) on the sequels that preceded them?

One of the things Jurassic World did very, very well is plant Easter eggs, hidden features, and nods to other movies. The film felt like a love letter because of these little moments and this list of Easter eggs in Jurassic World highlights the best. These are the best Easter eggs in Jurassic World! Vote up the best and most nostalgic!

Many fans were bummed to find out that Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcolm would not be making an appearance in Jurassic World. But remember that book he wrote, God Creates Dinosaurs? It appears not once, but twice in the film. Claire's assistant, Zara, is reading it while with the children and it's on Lowery's desk as well.

The Legend Of John Hammond Lives On

There wouldn’t be a Jurassic World without John Hammond. Hammond’s presence is still very much felt in Jurassic World as a statue of him overlooks the main floor of the visitor’s center. In fact, the entire science area is called The Hammond Creation Lab.

There's A Jab At 'Jurassic Park III'

Photo: Jurassic World / Universal Pictures
Jurassic World does it's best to ignore the fact that both The Lost World and Jurassic Park III ever happened. It does get one jab in, however, when the D. rex comes barreling through and trashes a Spinosaurus skeleton. Spinosaurus was the big bad in the third film, even easily taking out a T. rex.

Chaos Theory Comes Into Play Again

Photo: Jurassic World / Universal Pictures
In the first film, Ian Malcolm has a great scene in which he explains chaos theory with drops of water. The water, he explains, will always take a different path when dropped down on a hand. Chaos. This is shown more violently in Jurassic World as blood drips down on a Dinosaur Containment Soldier's hand and then does so again... taking a different path.
