The Kardashians are, for better or worse, America’s current royal family. And, as with all nobility, rumors of curses abound. What is the Kardashian curse? Essentially, anyone who hooks up with a Kardashian is hexed. As Kylie Jenner put it, "Their life kind of just goes down hill after that."
There are plenty of stories about how the Kardashian family causes bad luck, particularly regarding athletes who date the sisters, such as Cleveland Cavaliers' center Tristan Thompson. But the ill effects of the alleged curse seems to have spread to any significant others, no matter their profession – and perhaps even the family itself. How else would you explain all the bad things that have happened to Kim Kardashian?
Examples of the Kardashian curse might give more people an excuse to hate the crew. But, in their defense, the Kardashians are not your average family. They're influential business people and purveyors of pop culture, not to mention television stars. They navigate rarified realms of celebrity, and it’s easy to see how anyone, even high-profile athletes and musicians, can get overwhelmed by sharing the limelight.

Rapper Tyga was Blac Chyna’s significant other and father to their son, King, before switching affections to Kylie Jenner in 2014 when she was just 17 and he was 24. He soon became part of the family, and made several appearances on KUWTK.
Tyga has been accused of everything from being a deadbeat dad to having multiple affairs while linked to Jenner. He’s got also got a reputation for bailing out on car payments and rent, and has been the subject of several lawsuits.
With a family that includes Brandy (his sister) and Snoop Dog (his cousin), it would seem rapper Ray J was bound for big things – but what he’s most known for is a sex tape with his former girlfriend, Kim Kardashian. As a matter of fact, you could say he's somewhat responsible for putting the Kardashians on the map.
Ray J and Kardashian broke up in the early 2000s. Since then, Ray J released a single entitled "I Hit It First" (you can guess what he’s referring to) and has done some reality TV. When Kardashian married Kanye West in 2014, he was rumored to have sent a check to the newlyweds totaling his profits from the tape, though he denied the claim.

Houston Rocket James Harden refers to 2015 as the "worst year of his life." That was the year he dated Khloe Kardashian for eight months. He said the scrutiny he was under left him unfocused; he endured a thoroughly mediocre season and the team plunged in its standings:
"I didn’t like all the attention. I feel like it was for no reason. I wasn’t getting anything out of it except my name out there and my face out there, and I don’t need that. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but it wasn’t me. I don’t need pictures of myself when I’m driving my car. Who cares? What shoes am I wearing? Who cares? Where am I eating? Who cares? It was unnecessary stuff that I think trickled down to my teammates. I had to eliminate that."
Damon Thomas Filed For Bankruptcy
Music producer Damon Thomas was Kim Kardashian’s first husband; they eloped when she was just 19. Since their divorce in 2003, Thomas’s work in the industry has been sporadic at best. He's also found himself in dire financial straits – Thomas filed for bankruptcy in 2012 with a debt of almost $4 million.
During the divorce, Kardashian claimed Thomas hit her and was verbally abusive. He emphatically denied the allegations, and says she is "obsessed with fame" and will do "whatever it takes to get ahead."
