Kevin Garnett's Best Teammates Throughout His NBA Career

Ray Allen joined the Boston Celtics in the 2007 offseason, the same time Kevin Garnett came aboard, and together they helped revitalize and revolutionize a Boston Celtics franchise that had grown stale and complacent in mediocrity. Allen was a sweet shooting sniper who used KG's picks to get wide-open looks, or delivered pristine pocket passes to the big man for easy buckets. Allen and Garnett would play 5 seasons together from 2007-2012, and during that time they would win the 2008 championship. Allen would depart for the rival Miami Heat during the 2012 offseason, which poisoned his relationship with the big man, and is something they still have trouble getting over to this day.

Rajon Rondo was just a young gun in his second year in the league by the time Kevin Garnett joined him on the Boston Celtics, and while nearly no one knew it at the time, he would be the motor to lead the Celtics to win their first championship in decades. A fantastic point guard who delivered some of the best and most crisp passes the NBA has ever seen, Rondo had the game on a string, and playing next to three Hall of Famers made the game that much easier for him. They won the NBA championship in their first year together, and Rondo only grew more as a player with each of their 6 total seasons together. Rondo and KG still remain close friends to this day, and the 2008 title keeps their brotherhood thriving. 

Throughout their career, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett played the most games together out of any of their respected teammates. Together this dynamic duo played an astonishing 529 games together and won at a 64.5 percentage. Pierce was an electric scorer by the time the Boston Celtics traded for Kevin Garnett, and Garnett was the piece that finally helped both Boston and Pierce get over the hump and win the 2008 championship, which remarkably was in their first year together. Over the next 6 seasons after their championship, Pierce and Garnett grew their chemistry and became one of the most feared duos in the league, and although they never made it back to the top of the mountain after 2008, they are still remembered as Boston Celtics legends for their masterful run to a title.

When Sam Cassell joined the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2003 offseason, fans of the team rejoiced as it appeared that the franchise was finally putting the right pieces around the team's superstar Kevin Garnett! Cassell was a phenomenal scorer and passer who could easily slide into becoming the second or even third option for the team, and during the 2003-04 season, the franchise saw the best success of their career. Cassell put up wonderful numbers of 19.8 points and 7.3 assists per game, and the team won an incredible 58 games during the regular season and made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals. Sadly, injuries would derail the next season, forcing Minnesota to miss the playoffs entirely. However, Cassell did rejoin KG on the Boston Celtics, where the duo won the 2008 NBA championship!

When Chauncey Billups signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2000 offseason, his role was to be a sturdy off-the-bench guard to help relieve the starters. For his first year, he did just that and the Timberwolves finished with the 15th-best record in the league. During his second season, Billups would be inserted into the starting lineup thanks to a plethora of injuries, and suddenly it appeared a star had been born! Billups had the breakout season of his career, putting up 12.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game and helping Kevin Garnett carry the load offensively, and lead the team to a 50-32 record. While they would be eliminated in the first round, Billups suddenly emerged as a potential star, and he would leave for the Detroit Pistons in the offseason.

When Kevin Garnett was traded back to the Minnesota Timberwolves, he joined a plethora of young and hungry talent, most notably rising star Zach LaVine. LaVine was quickly becoming a household name thanks to his masterful and expert dunks, however, both he and the team desperately needed a leader, enter KG. Garnett had already won at the highest levels in the NBA, and his new role was teaching the young guns how to win as well. While they still struggled, suddenly the Timberwolves looked like an actual team and a promising one at that. LaVine would begin to blossom with he Wolves, and by the time KG retired, LaVine looked to be on his way to becoming a superstar.
