Taken is a great movie that set the mold for several films that came after but is it the best Liam Neeson action movie? Of course you have the sequels, Taken 2 and Taken 3, but let's consider others like The Honest Thief which focuses on morality as much as it does its action sequences. The Marksman finds Neeson using a set of skills to help a young immigrant boy find his family in the US. There's also two movies on this list that deal with the loss of memory with Unknown and, the aptly titled, Memory.     Garnering over $200 million at the box office, the 2008 action thriller spawned two sequels and a short-lived NBC show. Starring as former Green Beret and CIA officer Bryan Mills, the 56-year-old Neeson showed off his “particular set of skills" and began his journey of action movie stardom. 

    In the action-thriller Taken, Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson), a retired CIA operative, finds himself in a high-stakes race against time. His daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) is snatched while vacationing in Paris. Using his unique set of skills honed over a long covert career, he embarks on a relentless quest to rescue her from ruthless kidnappers. The film, directed by Pierre Morel, throws light on the grim world of human trafficking, keeping audiences on edge with its fast-paced plot and intense performances. It won an MTV Movie Award for Best Fight Scene, testament to its gripping action sequences.

Since then, Kim has been learning self-defense from her father, and Bryan has been on a personal mission to reunite with his ex-wife (Famke Janssen). In Istanbul, Bryan and his family cross paths with Murad (Rade Serbedzija), whose son died at Bryan's hand during Kim's rescue. Murad wants revenge, and he'll stop at nothing to get it.

    Soaked in intrigue and political dialog, The Marksman takes a radically different approach than the stereotypical Liam Neeson action film. Showcasing much more heart than outright violence, Neeson and up-and-comer Jacob Perez steal the show with their enigmatic, but wholesome bond.
