While country is traditionally thought of as a conservative genre of music, there are a surprising amount of liberals in country music. Liberal country singers vary greatly on the political spectrum in terms of how far left they lean. Some famous country singers who are Democrats donate money to politicians. Other iconic country musicians go as far as to support liberal causes within their own lyrics. In fact, a few more democratic country singers have even alienated fans because of their political commentary.
So, who are these famous country stars who are Democrats? Faith Hill donated a sizable sum of money to Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and her husband, Tim McGraw, also supported Obama. Willie Nelson is a longtime advocate for legalizing marijuana and the Dixie Chicks caused a mini-controversy when they spoke out against George W. Bush.

The Dixie Chicks famously spoke out against George W. Bush and the war in Iraq, causing some backlash from less liberal fans. In 2016, they once again caused waves when they performed their hit "Goodbye Earl" with a graffitied photo of Donald Trump, with devil horns and a goatee, displayed in the background.
LeAnn Rimes has performed at both Republican and Democratic events, but she seems to lean a bit more to the left. She is an advocate of LGBTQ rights and supports gay marriage, stating in an interview:
I believe in equality. Everybody should be treated exactly the same way no matter what their race, no matter what their sexuality.
Sheryl Crow made her contempt for Donald Trump very clear in a 2017 interview on Good Morning Britain. The singer stated:
It’s my hope that sooner than later he’s not in office anymore. I mean the word impeachment definitely comes out of my mouth, but what we need is a functioning government, and it’s been, for the last 144 days, nothing but chaos.

In 2008, Tim McGraw passionately vocalized his support for Barack Obama and Democratic politics in general. The singer stated:
It's innate in me to be a blue-dog Democrat. I'm not saying I'm right or wrong, but that's what I am. My wife and I and our family will do everything we can to support Obama. I like his ideas, I like his energy, and I like the statement he would make for our country to the world.
