Dean Foods is an American food and beverage company that specializes in dairy products. The company maintains plants and distributors in the United States and the United Kingdom. Dean Foods has 100 facilities located in 35 American states as well as five manufacturing plants in the countries of Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.

Sears is a chain of American department stores. The company was founded by Richard Warren Sears and Alvah Curtis Roebuck in 1886; it was previously based in the Sears Tower in Chicago, and is currently headquartered in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. It began as a mail order catalog company, and began opening retail locations in 1925. The company gradually declined following prosperity during the second half of the twentieth century, and was ultimately purchased by the American discount store chain Kmart in 2005, which renamed itself Sears Holdings upon completion of the merger. In terms of domestic revenue, Sears was the largest retailer in the United States until October 1989, when it was surpassed by Walmart. Ovation Brands, Inc., with corporate offices in Greer, South Carolina and corporate support center in Eagan, Minnesota, is a company that owns several American national chains of buffet restaurants. Prior to October 30, 2013, the company was named Buffets, Inc.
In January 2008, predecessor company Buffets, Inc. and its affiliated companies operated at least 626 restaurants in 39 states. As of May 2013, the company had 347 restaurants in 35 states.

Fortunoff

Fortunoff was a New York-based retailer of home, jewelry and furniture stores founded in 1922 by Max and Clara Fortunoff. The original Fortunoff store was on Livonia Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. The chain's flagship store was in Westbury, Long Island; the store opened in 1964 and anchored The Mall at the Source, which was built around the Fortunoff store, from 1997 until Fortunoff's closing in 2009.
Fortunoff had four full-line stores in the chain. In addition to the Westbury flagship, these stores were located in White Plains, New York, Woodbridge, New Jersey, and Wayne, New Jersey. In addition, Fortunoff operated 16 specialty stores: Jewelry and fine gifts were offered at the chain's shops on 57th Street in Manhattan, which closed in February 2009, and were also offered at Fortunoff's Paramus Park Mall location. A clearance center was also operated in East Garden City, New York. Indoor and outdoor furniture were the focus of another 14 stores throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania; these stores were known as "Fortunoff Backyard Stores".

The Metromedia Restaurant Group was a United States casual dining company that operates and franchises more than 800 restaurants under the names Bonanza, Ponderosa, The Plano Tavern, The Southlake Tavern and the 29 Degree Tavern. Its headquarters are in Plano, Texas. It is part of the Metromedia Company, which was privately owned by businessman John Kluge until his death and is related in lineage to the former entertainment company of the same name.

Circuit City Stores, Inc. was an American multinational consumer electronics corporation. It was founded in 1949 and pioneered the electronics superstore format in the 1970s. Circuit City liquidated its final American retail store in 2009, following a bankruptcy filing and subsequent failure to find a buyer.
At the time of liquidation, Circuit City was the second largest U.S. electronics retailer, after Best Buy. There were 567 Circuit City Superstores nationwide, ranging in size from 15,000 to 45,000 square feet, when the company announced total liquidation.
The "Circuit City" brand was then bought by Systemax, Inc., which used the brand to sell electronics and media as an online retailer, CircuitCity.com, until late December 2012, when the website was merged with TigerDirect.

FJ Management Inc., formerly known as Flying J Inc., is a privately held U.S. corporation which operates convenience stores, oil & refining, banking, and insurance businesses. Along with Pilot Corporation and CVC Capital Partners, it is a joint-owner of Pilot Flying J, the largest truck stop chain in the United States.
The company was founded in 1968 by O. Jay Call and headquartered in Ogden, Utah. A lifelong fan of aviation, Call named it Flying J in honor of the aviation industry.
It sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December 2008, blaming its financial woes on the collapse in oil prices and tighter credit markets. Pre-bankruptcy, Flying J was the largest retailer of diesel fuel in North America with approximately 220 locations in the United States and Canada and 15,000 employees. The company produces and refines petroleum products for its truck stops and offers a number of pricing plans for owner/operators and trucking companies. The company also offers vehicle maintenance, banking, insurance and telecommunications services for the trucking industry, and a number of restaurants at its locations.

Gottschalks was a middle-tier American department store that operated 58 department stores and three specialty apparel stores in six western states; some locations ran as Harris-Gottschalks stores. Prior to liquidation, it was the largest independently owned, publicly traded department store chain in the United States. On January 14, 2009, Gottschalks filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This bankruptcy became a liquidation on March 31, 2009.
