A list of famous unpublished books, listed by author. Many famous authors have works that have never been published. Often, this is either an early work, or one left incomplete due to the author's death. Sometimes, the author changes their mind and simply doesn't want their writing to be issued to the public. Some of the books on this list have eventually (even recently) been published, but in virtually all of these cases publication took place after the writer's death. Some of these unreleased books had pirate versions eventually released to the public as well. Both fiction and non-fiction books have been included on this list. All genres have also been included.
