Samus Aran

Samus Aran is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Metroid science fiction action-adventure game series by Nintendo. She was introduced in the 1986 video game Metroid.
Samus Aran is an ex-Galactic Federation soldier who turned into an intergalactic bounty hunter, usually fitted with a powered armor suit with weapons that include directed energy weapons and missiles. Throughout the series, she executes missions given to her by the Galactic Federation while hunting the antagonistic Space Pirates and their leader Ridley along with the parasitic energy-draining organisms called Metroids.

Lara Croft is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Square Enix video game series Tomb Raider. She is presented as a beautiful, intelligent, and athletic English archaeologist-adventurer who ventures into ancient, hazardous tombs and ruins around the world. Created by a team at UK developer Core Design that included Toby Gard, the character first appeared in the 1996 video game Tomb Raider. She has also appeared in video game sequels, printed adaptations, a series of animated short films, feature films, and merchandise related to the series. Official promotion of the character includes a brand of apparel and accessories, action figures, and model portrayals. Jill Valentine is a fictional character in the Resident Evil horror franchise by Capcom. Jill made her debut appearance in 1996 as one of the protagonists of the original Resident Evil game, in which she is a member of the U.S. special police unit STARS trapped in a mysterious mansion along with her team partner Chris Redfield. Princess Zelda is the name of a fictional character in The Legend of Zelda series by Nintendo. The name has applied to many female members of Hyrule's royal family, which includes several distinct characters in Hyrule legend.

The player instead controls Link, the series' protagonist, and usually focuses on defeating Ganon, the series' main antagonist. A member of the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE and owner of the 7th Heaven bar in the slums of Midgar, Tifa is the childhood friend of Cloud Strife, the main protagonist of Final Fantasy VII. Convincing him to join the group to keep him close and safe, she later assists him in saving the Planet from the game's villain, Sephiroth. Installments in The Compilation of Final Fantasy VII later expanded upon her character, such as in the film Advent Children, where she attempts to convince Cloud to let go of his self-imposed guilt, and move on with his life after Sephiroth's defeat.
Named the pin-up girl of the "cyber generation" by The New York Times, Tifa has been compared to Lara Croft as an example of a strong, independent and attractive female character in video games.

Bayonetta, real name Cereza, is a fictional character and main protagonist of the video game Bayonetta and its sequel, developed by Platinum Games and published by Sega and Nintendo respectively. She was created by Hideki Kamiya, designed by Mari Shimazaki, and is voiced by Hellena Taylor in English and Atsuko Tanaka in Japanese.
Bayonetta is one of only two surviving Umbran Witches, along with being the child of a Witch and a Lumen Sage. During the first game, she goes in search of her forgotten past, heading for her old home of Vigrid, and fighting the angelic forces of Paradiso on the way. She also appears as the main protagonist of Bayonetta 2, and as a special guest character in Anarchy Reigns and The Wonderful 101.
Reception of the character has been positive overall, with the common point of praise being her highly feminine image, which makes her both stand out among female characters in video games and go against several set conventions. However, her sexuality has also been a point of criticism and contention.

Kitana is a fictional character from the Mortal Kombat media franchise, where she was introduced as one of new player characters in the fighting game Mortal Kombat II in 1993. Since then, Kitana appeared in a majority of Mortal Kombat series' video games and its other media, including the films Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, and the series Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm, Mortal Kombat: Konquest and Mortal Kombat: Legacy, becoming one of the most popular and recognisable elements of the franchise.
One of the lead characters of the Mortal Kombat saga, Kitana is the princess of the other-dimensional realm of Edenia and the biological daughter of Queen Sindel, as well as an adopted daughter of the evil Emperor Shao Kahn. In the series' original storyline, Kitana serves Shao Kahn as an elite assassin before becoming one of the leaders of the good characters. She also has a role of suggested romantic interest for the series' primary hero Liu Kang and has an evil twin and nemesis named Mileena, as well as a longtime friend in Jade.

Ada Wong

Ada Wong is a fictional character in the Resident Evil horror franchise by Capcom. She is a mysterious and ambiguous antihero figure, working for the series' villains but also helping the protagonist Leon S. Kennedy.
Introduced as a supporting character in the video game Resident Evil 2 in 1998, Ada later appeared as a player character or in supporting roles in the video games Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City and Resident Evil 6, as well as in the animated film Resident Evil: Damnation. The live-action film series' version of Ada first appeared in Resident Evil: Retribution.
Ada was well received and became one of the most popular characters in the series. She has been also often regarded one of the most attractive Asian women and best dressed and sexiest female characters in all of gaming.

Elizabeth is a fictional character and A.I. companion in BioShock Infinite, the third in Irrational Games' BioShock franchise. With the game set in 1912 on a sky city based on American exceptionalism, Elizabeth is to take over the city once its current leader, Father Comstock, dies. Elizabeth can make and exploit "tears", rips to other universes, allowing her to move between them and/or bring in items from them. To prevent her from leaving Columbia, a remote "Siphon" is made which limits her powers, and she is locked in a tower under study and guarded by a giant mechanical bird known as Songbird. In addition to the main game, Elizabeth also appears in the two-episode downloadable content campaign Burial at Sea, set in the underwater city of Rapture and evocative of film noir. In it, she takes on a more femme fatale role and serves as the player character in the second episode.
The character is voiced by Courtnee Draper, while motion capture was done by Heather Gordon. Russian cosplayer Anna Moleva was brought in to be her "face" and used in live-action adverts, after developers saw her incredibly accurate cosplay.

Mileena is a player and one-time boss character from the Mortal Kombat series of fighting games. Since her introduction as Princess Kitana's palette swap for Mortal Kombat II in 1993, Mileena has gained significant popularity and became one of the series' most iconic characters.
In the games, Mileena was originally known as a dual sai-wielding assassin in service of the dark emperor of Outworld, Shao Kahn, and an evil twin sister of his stepdaughter Kitana. However, she was soon revealed to be just a monstrously deformed and mentally unbalanced clone of Kitana, created for Kahn by Shang Tsung. In the later games, Mileena also uneasily serves other masters, namely Shinnok and Onaga, and is a central character to the plot of the game Mortal Kombat: Deception. In the backstory of the upcoming Mortal Kombat X, Mileena, the sole surviving heir of Shao Kahn, vies for the Outworld throne with warlord Kotal Kahn.
Mileena's traits in the original timeline are traditionally defined by her fierce rivalry with Kitana, as well as her own lust for power and cannibalistic urges.

Lightning is a fictional character from Square Enix's Final Fantasy series. She first appeared as a playable character and main protagonist in the role-playing video game Final Fantasy XIII, in which she features as a resident of the artificial world of Cocoon. After her sister Serah is declared an enemy of Cocoon, Lightning attempts to save her: she and others are then chosen by the fal'Cie, a divided race of demigods who rule the worlds of Gran Pulse and Cocoon, to destroy Cocoon. Lightning was created by Motomu Toriyama, the director and scenario writer of XIII, and designed by Tetsuya Nomura, a regular character artist for the Final Fantasy series. Their idea was to create a strong female protagonist who was adept at combat and less feminine than previous Final Fantasy heroines.

Morrigan Aensland is a video game character from the Darkstalkers series of fighting games by Capcom. Morrigan is a succubus and a powerful princess of the demon realm Makai, who is very vain and lives for little more than the excitement of battle, but slowly takes up more of her royal responsibilities seriously despite her obsessive fascination of the human world.
Morrigan was introduced in 1994's Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors and has since appeared in every game in the series and in various related media, as well as in multiple video games outside the Darkstalkers game series. She is the central character of the extended Darkstalkers franchise and is widely perceived as one of the most iconic Capcom characters as well as one of the most popular female characters in video gaming.

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman of Earth-Two is a fictional DC Comics superheroine retconned from original stories by Wonder Woman writer and creator William Moulton Marston and his wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston. This version of Wonder Woman first appeared in All Star Comics #8. This was after DC Comics established a multiverse in their published stories to explain how heroes could have been active before World War II and retain their youth and origins during the 1960s.
The Earth-Two Wonder Woman was first featured as a character separate from Wonder Woman in the second Jay Garrick and Barry Allen comic. Earth-Two Wonder Woman had appeared several months earlier in one comic-book panel.
Like most of the older Earth-Two incarnations of the DC characters, this version of Wonder Woman was semi-retired when she reappeared in later stories. She appeared in many later Earth-Two features, including the multigenerational Infinity, Inc. series featuring her daughter Fury.
She were eliminated in a company-wide storyline, Crisis on Infinite Earths. After this series she ascended to her world's Mount Olympus with her husband, General Steve Trevor, reaching godhood.
