Alleged pictures of the Loch Ness Monster are not nearly as elusive as the famous aquatic creature itself, as pictures can easily be found online or in books. However, pictures of the Loch Ness Monster can often be mistaken for other creatures that live in the water, floating refuse, or even strategically placed logs. Countless other images can simply be chalked up to obvious hoaxes as well.
Also referred to as "Nessie," the Loch Ness Monster inhabits a lake by the same name in the Scottish highlands. All evidence of the creature is based on the anecdotes of those who were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the mysterious water beast and by those who somehow managed to photograph it.
A water bailiff was the first to spot Nessie in 1933, but tales of Loch Ness Monster sightings go as far back as sixth century CE. You have probably seen the most famous image of Nessie, entitled the "surgeon's photograph," named after the doctor who snapped the picture in 1934, but here are some more Loch Ness Monster photos that could, quite possibly, be real.
