Which 'Lord Of The Rings' Character Are You, Based On Your Zodiac?

If you were thrust into Tolkien's Middle Earth fantasy world, who would you be? It's an interesting question, but the answer might already be clear because you can tell which Lord of the Rings character you would be based on your sign of the zodiac.

The zodiac helps us reflect on our lives, and it can also direct our attention to who we are or aim to be. Astrology can tell us what our personality type would be like if we were riding a magic carpet like a Disney princess or if we were fighting Ultron alongside the Avengers. Perhaps you need some guidance on your best Pokémon partner? Astrology has that covered, too!

Tolkien's fantasy world of hobbits, wizards, elves, dwarves, and everything in between is a rich tapestry of personalities, and for each zodiac sign there is an ideal Lord of the Rings character. Perhaps you're more of a justice-oriented Libra and you're willing to face down a Balrog or you're more of a travel thirsty Sagittarius who wants to kick back and see the sights with your fellow Nazgûl. Check out the list below of The Lord of the Rings characters by zodiac sign and see if they match you. Just remember to read your charts with a grain of salt. After all, nothing should be too precious.

  • Aries (March 21 - April 19): Elrond

Bold and fearless, Aries charges into the fight without delay. However, they can trample over those close to them on their way and appear a bit pushy or bossy. They have a lot of energy and fight to go around, but they have to be careful where they swing the sword.

Elrond exudes Aries energy with his bold leadership as Lord of Rivendell. He's been fighting the good fight against Mordor for a few thousand years, so his people leaving Middle Earth isn't so much a retreat as it is a new journey. Still, there better not be any troublemakers in the Undying Lands or Elrond will certainly rear his Ram horns.

  • Taurus (April 20 - May 20): Samwise Gamgee

Stubborn, willful, and loyal, Taurus always holds their ground. This Earth sign may sometimes indulge a bit much, but that's just a result of their innate love for the finer things in life. The Bull can be criticized for their aversion to risk, but they're only trying to keep their loved ones safe from harm.

Sam is a bullish Taurus all the way to Mount Doom. Whether he's dropping eaves or nearly drowning in a river, his fierce loyalty to Frodo knows no bounds. Though he believes in his quest, he never misses a chance to reminisce about an ale at the Green Dragon. Just like the Bull, Sam is up for the fight, but he's also up for a heaping pile of taters. Ahem, Po-ta-toes, that is.

  • Gemini (May 21-June 20): Gollum/Sméagol

Gemini, also known as the Twins for their dualistic nature, possesses great intelligence. They are adaptable and thoughtful, but on a bad day they can seem two-faced or even at odds with their own emotions. Because of their constantly running mind, they can also be quite chatty, even with themselves!

Sméagol, known on his bad days (or years) as Gollum, is the quintessential Gemini. Frequently pulled in two directions by himself, Sméagol is responsible for some pretty epic debates about who to kill, when, and/or if he should do it at all. In a different age, Sméagol would have been captain of the debate team like any good Gemini.

  • Cancer (June 21 - July 22): Frodo Baggins

Emotional and intuitive, Cancer knows their feelings and the feelings of others well. They value safety and home, and they are willing to protect their family with everything they've got, so watch out for the Crab claws! Cancer can also quickly become overwhelmed by their feelings, which results in some unpredictable mood swings.

Frodo is positively dripping with Cancer vibes. All the feels? Check. Strong sense of his gut? Check. Willing to do anything to protect his home and all of Middle Earth? Triple Check. Frodo also has some epic mood swings, but give him a little credit: if you had that much lembas bread, you would get hangry, too.
