Foods And Drinks We Were Surprised To Learn Some People Hate With A Passion

It's easy to see why some people hate certain foods and drinks. Even if someone loves to slurp down freshly shucked raw oysters, they don't have to be the most empathetic person in the world to understand why that might be gross for someone else.

Consumables like black licorice, eggnog, and blue cheese are simply expected to draw a mixed reaction. But certain foods and drinks out there are considered very popular, yet some people hate them with a white-hot passion. Some of these surprised us. Did they surprise you, too?

    Gluten-Free Bread

    From Redditor u/Tauber10:

I actually have celiac disease and I eat gluten free bread only a handful of times per year because it's so lousy. I was never a big bread person anyway so it wasn't hard for me to give that up. Luckily there's pretty good substitutes for most other things, but gluten free bread is not good, and if you eat it when you don't actually need to be gluten free, you're nuts.

Every wedding I’ve ever been to they’ve paid hundreds for a sh*t fruit cake draped in 3 inches of sh*t fondant. I cannot believe it is still so popular.

I think people are starting to figure this out but red delicious apples. They are bitter, mealy textured garbage and the worst tasting apple.

Anything with Stevia in it. I was doing keto and tried doing the stevia sweetener for the occasional treat. Yeah, sure things tasted sweet but then there's this soapy artificial taste that I have never been able to get used to. BLEH

Food so spicy you can't actually taste it.

    From Redditor u/illy-chan:

Yep. I find that a lot of stuff that boasts about heat just doesn't taste particularly good. There's more to spicy food than causing pain.
