List Rules Vote up the theories that could become canon during Mando's future adventures with Baby Yoda.

The Mandalorian isn't the first canon Star Wars TV show, but it is the first live-action one. With Disney Plus keen to throw plenty of money Lucasfilm's way, it's no surprise The Mandalorian Season 2 has already been confirmed to arrive in fall 2020. And fans are thrilled to know there are more adventures in store for Mando and Baby Yoda.

The first season teased a lot of lore, but plenty of questions were left unanswered. How did Moff Gideon get the Darksaber? What happened to the other Mandalorians? Does Baby Yoda have an actual name? Season 2 will likely dive into many of these questions, but fans are filling the time in between by tossing out all sorts of Mandalorian theories - and it's up to you to decide which ones seem viable.

The Mandalorian Is Destined To Wield The Darksaber

While not exactly a stretch, Redditor /u/Imnotahipsterdammit seems to think the titular Mandalorian will wield the Darksaber by the end of Season 2. Given the blade's history of being held by the leader of the Mandalorian people, there's plenty of reason to believe this will happen.

Another user, meanwhile, commented that they think Mando will get the Darksaber in the middle of Season 2 and have plenty of time to use it on his enemies.

The Mandalorian Will Unite All His Peoples’ Tribes

The Darksaber was once used to unite all of the tribes of Mandalore. The Mandalorian has added to that mythology a lot, and the introduction of the Darksaber means elements previously resigned to the animated series are now likely to become part of the live-action world.

Redditor /u/Mythoclast thinks that Din Djarin will become the next Mand'alor, uniting the remainder of his people once he gains control of the Darksaber from Moff Gideon. There's certainly precedent for this, as it's essentially what happened in Rebels when Sabine Wren claimed the Darksaber and gave it to Bo-Katan Kryze to help reunite her fractured people.

A New Planet Will Explain Baby Yoda, Old Man Yoda, And Yaddle

Baby Yoda may have taken the internet by storm, but the child's name has yet to be revealed. In Star Wars lore, he's just the third of his species to be featured after Yoda and fellow Jedi Yaddle, who briefly appeared in the prequel trilogy. Nowhere in canon is a species or planet name given for Yoda and his kind.

Redditor /u/tanteikidsama thinks Season 2 of The Mandalorian will change that. Certainly, it makes sense from a marketing standpoint for Lucasfilm to grant the character a proper name. The reveal could also go a long way toward explaining the many mysteries of Yoda and his people. With the Mandalorian and his charge setting off to find the kid a home, you can bet Season 2 will provide some answers.

New Republic Politics Will Add Some Historic Flavor

With The Mandalorian occurring five years after the fall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi, there's a lot unknown about the state of the galaxy far, far away. But Redditor /u/matheus886 thinks Season 2 will delve more into the rise of the New Republic and show what the state of the universe is in the aftermath of the Empire's defeat.

The first season offers some teases, showing that Imperial factions still remain and threaten the inhabitants of various worlds. What hasn't been made obvious, however, is the influence of the New Republic that will be full-blown by the time of The Force Awakens. The animated series Resistance has offered a look at the time in between the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy, but The Mandalorian Season 2 has a chance to bring those elements to life on the live-action side of things.
