The reputation of McDonald's has taken a big hit ever since Morgan's Spurlock's infamous documentary, Super Size Me. The film resulted in fast food eaters around the nation thinking twice about what they put inside their bodies. And who could forget all the french fry tests since then, where after month's or years, McDonald's fries barely change in image, inexplicably growing almost no visible mold.
McDonald's is a special place, and it seems like anyone who frequents the fast food chain has their own McDonald's horror stories. The restaurant's reputation has gone from bad to worse over the last decade as the world becomes more health conscious, but some of the worst things that happen there don't even involve their food. From frequent robberies to crazed and drugged customers, it can be a dangerous place to work. There's even a long list of McDonald's deaths out there, and not all of them are from eating burgers and getting heart disease.
It's almost hard to count all the bad things that have happened at McDonald's. So instead, check out this list of the best of the best, or rather - the worst of the worst.
Couple Had Parking Lot Sex in Front of a 6 Year Old
28-year-old Kimberly Onorato and 27-year-old Rory Clark were found engaging in ~sexual activity~ in the parking lot of an Orange, CT McDonald's in November 2016. Unfortunately, they had an audience, a 6-year-old boy who was in the backseat, reportedly "awake and alert." Onorato was "partially undressed," but Clark claimed the pair was "just cuddling." They were each charged with impairing morals of a minor and breach of peace; a relative took custody of the boy.
Sh*t N' Slide
The McDonald's Play Place can be a dangerous area. It's full of germs and small humans who don't look where they're going. Worst of all, apparently some kids also like to use the slide as their own public toilet. According to one McDonald's employee, a kid once turned the Play Place slide into a shit-n-slide, with many kids unsuspectingly sliding down and making an even bigger mess.
Shooting Caused by Lack of Bacon
Forgetting to put bacon on a bacon cheeseburger once is excusable, but doing it twice warrants attempted murder, or at least that was the thinking of one Michigan woman. After her second bacon-less bacon cheeseburger of the day, a 30-year-old woman opened fire on a Michigan McDonald's. Luckily, no one was hurt in the shooting.
The Glass Burger
Some people like Big Macs, but no one likes a Big Mac full of glass. Unfortunately that's what a NYPD officer got at a New York McDonald's. A McDonald's employee reportedly purposely put the glass into the Big Mac, which resulted in the officer suffering severe lacerations. He ended up suing the restaurant for $5.5 million.
