Following the shocking events of Avengers: Infinity War, it's anybody's guess who will return for the MCU's future films. Fortunately, the next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel, takes place in the 1990s - opening up a deep well of cameo possibilities. The setting not only allows for characters last seen in Infinity War to return, but it means other previously deceased members of the MCU may make an appearance.
Which characters will show up in Captain Marvel remains a topic of debate online, with several big names already confirmed. A few details about the film have leaked, though, helping pinpoint which corners of the MCU the movie plans to explore. We know it involves the Kree and the Skrulls, which means it will partly take place in space. And on Earth, some former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents will definitely appear.

Ronan the Accuser, the sadistic Kree radical from Guardians of the Galaxy, is set to make an appearance in the film. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told io9 he wanted to incorporate the character to help flesh out the Kree society, since the alien race possesses deep ties to Captain Marvel and her powers.Agree or disagree?

Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross showed up as the US Secretary of State in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, but he served Uncle Sam in the United States Army before his political career.
In the comics, Ross acts as one of the Incredible Hulk's greatest adversaries, relentlessly pursuing the Jade Giant. He first appeared in the MCU in The Incredible Hulk as a Lieutenant General, which suggests he was rising up the ranks in the '90s.
Ross could easily appear in Captain Marvel. His rank and close association to Super Soldier programs would place him in proximity to amazing people, so there's the chance of a cameo.Agree or disagree?

Agent Melinda May has a long history with Phil Coulson and a storied past in S.H.I.E.L.D. Already a powerhouse on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - and without any superpowers - Captain Marvel would serve as a great way to witness her start in the organization. With Coulson and Fury confirmed, there's plenty of room for other notable agents to pop in for a scene or two.Agree or disagree?

One of the benefits of being placed into cryogenic storage like the Winter Soldier: you can pop up throughout history. The only time we've seen Barnes in the '90s, he was busy assassinating Howard and Maria Stark. But little is known about what he did following that event in 1991, so there's a chance he could appear in Captain Marvel.
