UPDATE 5/8/19: Baby Sussex joined us all on planet Earth on May 6, at 5:26 am. A boy named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, Meghan and Harry's son weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces.
What will Meghan and Harry name their baby? Royal devotees will have months to speculate, following the October 15 announcement from Kensington Palace that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their first child in "Spring 2019." Names like Diana (after Harry's late mother) and Elizabeth (because the Queen) are likely candidates for a girl child, while Phillip (Great Grandpa Prince Phil is no spring chicken) and Richard (boring, yes, but carries rich tradition!) could be in the running for a boy. Or maybe Meghan Markle will throw history to the wind and go with something wacky like other weird celebrity baby names.
Pregnancy rumors had been swirling throughout 2018, fueled at least in part by Meghan's not exactly fitted coat choice for Princess Eugenie's October 12 wedding. Reportedly, Meghan and Harry shared the happy news with the Royal Family DURING Eugenie's nuptials as well. Rude? Sweet? Convenient? Regardless, 2019 will feature a brand new member of the Royal Family for the second year in a row and George and Charlotte will have a new pal to mess around with on the balcony.
