Siegfried Loraine Sassoon, CBE, MC was an English poet, writer, and soldier. Decorated for bravery on the Western Front, he became one of the leading poets of the First World War. His poetry both described the horrors of the trenches, and satirised the patriotic pretensions of those who, in Sassoon's view, were responsible for a jingoism-fuelled war. Elias David Sassoon Indian Merchant and Banker born in India, was the second son of David Sasson an Iraqi-Indian philanthropist Jewish businessman involved in trade in India and the Far East. He was first of David Sasson to visit China in 1844 for Business branch opening and expansion. He was involved in his father business in Mumbai India.
