Metal musicians are known for being fans of cats, so much so that Alexandra Crockett published, Metal Cats, a photo book of metal musicians with cats. But hard rock and heavy metal stars don't limit themselves to one furry friend. Rush's Geddy Lee dresses his dogs, Lucy and Stanley Wasserman, up for holidays. And Alestorm's Christopher Bowes isn't ashamed to show his soft side when he cuddles with his ferret, Bunbun. 

Plenty of celebrities have pets who they love to take photos with, but there is something especially charming about metal musicians who go home to cuddle with their fur friends after a long day of screaming about the failures of the world at large.

    Devin Garrett Townsend (born May 5, 1972) is a Canadian musician, songwriter and record producer. He founded extreme metal band Strapping Young Lad and was its primary songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist from 1994 to 2007, and has an extensive career as a solo artist. After performing in a number of heavy metal bands in high school, Townsend was discovered by a record label in 1993 and asked to perform lead vocals on Steve Vai's album Sex & Religion.     Christopher James Adler (born November 23, 1972) is an American drummer, best known as the founder of the groove metal band Lamb of God (1994-2019), and Grammy Award winning member of Megadeth.
