This is a list of popular Mexican Olympic athletes, listed alphabetically with photos of the athletes when available. Famous Olympians from Mexico have achieved some of the highest honors in sports and Olympic history, as even being chosen to represent your country at the Olympics is something that most athletes will never get to experience. These competitors are the most prominent people from Mexico who have competed in the Olympics.

Mexico has a long, proud history of competing in the Olympic games, and without these fierce athletes they never would have won any medals. This list features an array of Mexican Olympians, from Fernando Platas to Paola Espinosa.

  • Juan Álvaro José Gaxiola Robles (26 January 1937 – 18 August 2003) was a Mexican diver. He competed at the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Olympics in the 3 m springboard and 10 m platform and won a silver medal in the platform in 1968, in Mexico City. He also finished fourth in the springboard in 1960.Gaxiola lived for many years in the United States and returned to Mexico only in the 1990s. He competed in diving for Ann Arbor High School and then for the University of Michigan, where he studied civil engineering.Gaxiola died of cancer in his native Guadalajara, aged 66.   • Carlos Armando Girón Gutiérrez (born 3 November 1954 in Mexicali, Baja California) is a Mexican diver. He competed in four consecutive Summer Olympics, winning one medal. At the 1972 Summer Olympics he placed ninth in the 3 metre springboard event and eighth in the 10 metre platform event. In 1976 he repeated the position in the platform diving while advancing to a seventh place in the springboard. At the 1980 Olympics he finally won a silver medal in 3 metre springboard, and came close to another medal with a fourth place in the 10 metre platform.   • Fernando Fabricio Platas Álvarez (born March 16, 1973 in Mexico City) is a Mexican diver. He began diving since he was a young boy. In 1990 he won in Germany two tests of 2 and 10 metres, and in that same year he won three gold medals in the Central American Games which took place in Mexico City. In 1992, he represented Mexico in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain and in 1993 he won a silver medal in the FINA Championships. Winner of the silver medal in the FINA Championships, for 1999 he won the gold medal in the 3 metre springboard.
