Michael's Enemy Is A Character From Hitchcock's 'Psycho'

Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic Psycho features a character named Sam Loomis. His girlfriend, Marion Crane, is famously slashed by Norman Bates while in the shower.
User u/Volfgang91 has a long Reddit post on this, pointing out that the Donald Pleasance psychiatrist character from Halloween is also named Sam Loomis. Therefore, it's conceivable that the Loomis from Psycho, spurred by the loss of Marion, went on to become a doctor who works with psychopaths and ends up treating Michael Myers.

Most Of The Halloween Sequels Were Michael's Fantasy
David Gordon Green's 2018 Halloween ignores all the previous sequels to John Carpenter's 1978 original. That makes it very difficult to establish any sort of canon within the franchise -- unless you subscribe to u/magzsaksak's idea. This Reddit user believes you could make all the other sequels canon if you consider them revenge fantasies Michael has during the 40-year stay in an institution that Green's picture establishes at the beginning.
Michael escapes in the 2018 Halloween by slaying a bus driver and causing the vehicle to crash. Or does he? User u/Vlakk thinks Laurie Strode may have crashed her car into the bus, allowing Michael to escape so that she could fulfill her four-decade mission of slaying him. She was, after all, sitting in her car with a weapon when he was loaded onto the bus.

Michael Is Connected To Almost Every Other Major Horror Icon

In an epic work of imagination, u/trailerthrash has come up with a theory stating that Michael Myers lives within the same universe as virtually every other major horror villain, from Jason Voorhees to Ash from The Evil Dead to Chucky. It's kind of like a horror version of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The basis for this is some meta jokes thrown into various installments of these franchises, such as Michael's mask briefly glimpsed in an evidence locker in The Bride of Chucky.
In Halloween II, Michael scrawls the word "Samhain" onto blackboard using blood. Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the conclusion of the harvest season and the movement into winter. User u/Tzadikim points out that young Michael had been catatonic in an institution for decades, and therefore unable to read books. How, then, would he have known what Samhain is unless he has some kind of deeper psychic connection to the holiday?
Does Michael return to Haddonfield with the intention of taking Laurie Strode's life? Probably, but there might be a second motive. Writer Christopher Shultz believes that Michael may have wanted to instill fear in her, since she was brave enough to approach his house -- the same one Tommy Doyle was terrified of. Therefore, the theory goes, Michael eliminated her friends as a means of making her feel a level of fear.
