As these fresh young MLB players make their way through the second half of their debut seasons, it's time to start making your 2018 AL Rookie of the Year predictions. Each season, a diverse group of wide-eyed players make the transition from the minors to majors, but only a select few stand out over the rest and make a name for themselves in the league. While this season has certainly been a year for the sluggers, plenty of rookie pitchers have also begun to prove themselves. Of all the top newcomers this season, though, who will win AL Rookie of the Year for 2018?
In the American League, the top rookies making headlines this season include Yankees' third baseman Miguel Andújar, the Rays' Jake Bauer, and Blue Jays' second baseman Lourdes Gurriel Jr.—just to name a few. Could these guys be considered some of the best current MLB players? Or perhaps some of them are making their way toward the top batters in baseball.
