One thing is for certain: it’s a great time to be a comic book movie fan. Every Hollywood studio from Disney to Warner Bros. is all in for making superhero movies. Several studios have even announced projects based on comics that won’t be released until 2020! Here is your personal guide to the most anticipated comic book movies coming out in the next few years.

With the success of Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman, the highly anticipated sequel has been officially set for production with Gal Gadot returning as Diana Prince. Other upcoming Marvel movies include Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.

Although the DC movies haven't quite lived up to the hype, Warner Bros and their DC Extended Universe are developing many sequels, spinoffs, and standalone movies. After the release of Justice League, we will get Justice League Part Two and Justice League Dark with possibly Peter Jackson as director. Other upcoming DCEU movies to be released in 2020 and on include The Batman, Green Lantern Corps, Suicide Squad 2, Nightwing, Gotham City Sirens, and Deathstroke with Joe Manganiello and director Gareth Evans. 

2019 superhero films include Shazam! starring Zachary Levi; Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson; and another Avengers: Endgame. 

Make sure to also keep your eyes open for upcoming comic book films like the Hellboy reboot, X-Men horror movie The New Mutants, and Birds of Prey.
