List RulesVote up the most influential and important females who changed the photography industry.
As with many industries, female photographers bring a different perspective from behind the lens. In a male-dominated industry, plenty of women have established themselves as influential photographers, setting the standard for not just other female photographers, but for anyone pursuing the field. In short, the most influential photographers of all time consist of numerous women who have had a strong hand in the industry's progression, but which women had the greatest influence?
Photographers like Annie Leibovitz are a true testament to the notion that gender doesn't apply to photography. Not only has she set the pace for any female photographers to come next, she's become a mainstay in photography in general—now known as one of the best photographers in history. Similarly, women photographers like Cindy Sherman, Berenice Abbott, and Diane Arbus have all influenced generations, and will continue for those to come.
Which of these influential female photographers do you think had the strongest impact? Cast your votes below and feel free to add others to the list.
