List RulesVote up the films of the 2010s that will keep you quoting for another 10 years.

What makes a movie quotable? Is it the broad appeal of the script's jokes - like every line in Bridesmaids? Or is it how easily they can be morphed and remixed into a myriad of memes, like with the over-the-top gravitas of Mad Max: Fury Road? Or is it because these iconic movie quotes from the 2010s came from the decade's defining franchises, such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars?

The most quotable movies of the 2010s don't stick to any certain genre or type. Some of the most quoted movies of the 2010s don't even get credited for some lines that have permanently etched their way into the 21st-century zeitgeist. Many of these quotes from 2010 movies have become so ubiquitous that they've been separated from their original context, taking on entirely new meanings when quoted. Other memorable lines in 2010 films might not be something we quote verbatim but used in other modes of communication, like in memes and GIF reactions.

Why It's So Quotable: The best-selling book series turned film franchise features loads of poignant lines from the novels. It also gave the internet one of its favorite memes of the early 2010s: "I volunteer as tribute!"

Best Quote: "I volunteer as tribute!" - Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) after her younger sister, Prim (Willow Shields), is initially selected to participate in the Hunger Games.

Honorable Mentions: "May the odds ever be in your favor." - Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks)

"Hope. It is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective. A lot of hope is dangerous." - President Snow (Donald Sutherland)

"This is the time to show them everything, make sure they remember you." - Haymitch (Woody Harrelson)

  • Why It's So Quotable: The first installment of Guardians wasn't expected to turn into the smash hit it did. The James Gunn-helmed ensemble film features plenty of quips, one-liners, and memorable reaction responses that fit nearly any real-life scenario.

Best Quote: "We are Groot." - Groot (Vin Diesel) as he sacrifices himself to save the rest of the Guardians.

Honorable Mentions: "I know who you are, Peter Quill, and I am not some starry-eyed waif here to succumb to your... your pelvic sorcery!" - Gamora (Zoe Saldana)

"Well, now I'm standing. Happy? We're all standing now. Bunch of jack*sses, standing in a circle." - Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper)

"Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are to fast, I'll catch it." - Drax the Destroyer (David Bautista)

  • What Makes It So Quotable: Annie's (Kristen Wiig) life might be falling apart, but her best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph) just got engaged. Annie has to pull it together as much as she can to act as Lillian's maid of honor and lead the other bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper, and Wendi McLendon-Covey) down a wild road to Lillian's wedding day. With an ensemble cast full of some of the best working comedians, Bridesmaids is full of zingers and quotable moments.

Best Quote: "Help me, I'm poor..." - Annie speaking to a flight attendant while inebriated on a plane.

Honorable Mentions: "At first I did not know it was your diary, I thought it was a very sad handwritten book." - Brynn (Rebel Wilson)

"You told me not to bleach my butthole, and I did it anyway, and now I love my new bleached butthole!" - Lillian

"Look away! What did we eat?! The sink's a goner! It's comin' outta me like lava!" - Megan (Melissa McCarthy)

  • Why It's So Quotable: The 2013 Disney animated musical instantly won over audiences with its bubbly heroine Anna (Kristen Bell) and her plucky snowman friend Olaf (Josh Gad), as well as Elsa's (Idina Menzel) powerful song, "Let It Go." The song quickly became the bane of some parents' existences, but one thing's for sure: The movie has a lot of fun quotes and dialogue, perfect for both adults and children.

Best Quote: "Let it go!" - Elsa as she builds her ice castle and begins to accept the supernatural powers with which she's been graced.

Honorable Mentions: "Some people are worth melting for." - Olaf

"The cold never bothered me anyway." - Elsa

    "I don't have a skull... or bones." - Olaf
