There are a lot of factors that go into a great anime. Plot, character development, design, and animation are all key components that no anime would be complete without. The same is true of fights - the best fights are between compelling characters who have a good reason to oppose each other - and who are animated beautifully. In fact, sometimes the animation is the most important part, which is why today we're looking at some of the most visually stunning anime fights out there.

Some come from classic seriesCowboy Bebop has a gorgeous shootout in a church that's so well done that few others series can come close to its quality. But many of the more visually appealing anime fight scenes come from recent series, like when Todo and Itadori take on Hanami in Jujutsu Kaisen or when Mob faces Mogami in Mob Psycho 100. But no matter when these scenes were produced, they're all spectacular.

Tanjiro & Nezuko Vs. Rui - 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba'

There are two things that make the fight between the Kamado siblings and Rui stand out. The first thing is the emotional stakes - Rui represents a toxic view of family that the sibling must repudiate. The second is that it looks amazing. The searing combination of Nezuko's Burning Blood and Tanjiro's recently acquired Hinokami Dance is pure eye candy.

Levi Vs. Kenny's Squad - 'Attack On Titan'

The coolest thing about this fight is that it makes incredible use of the landscape. Levi, Kenny, and Kenny's squad members skid off of the rooftops, bounce off of moving carts and awnings, and overall treat the city like a giant aerial battleground. It did a great job of showing off how outlandishly talented Levi is.

Saitama can defeat anybody with a single punch, which is why when he actually faces an enemy that presents even the slightest challenge to him, it's got to look good. This fight features rapid-fire punches, explosions of light and color, and detailed shots of exhausted warriors. It does a great job of showing that One Punch Man isn't just a funny show - it has solid battle scenes too.

    Kakashi Vs. Obito - 'Naruto'

The animation in Naruto can be kind of hit or miss, but one of the reasons it's so beloved is that when it hits, it hits. The battle between these two childhood friends is a hit. Taking place in an alternate dimension, the two spar with everything they've got. The animation is clean, fluid, and minimalist. This is a perfect choice, because the focus is on their former friendship and the emotional turmoil that they're both enduring, not on showcasing their considerable strength.

What starts as a friendly competition between Sorceror classes turns into a brutal battle against a dangerous Curse. From Hanami's gorgeously grotesque flower-based moves to the epic combination of Todo's Boogie Woogie and Itadori's Black Flash, this battle is a great way to gear up for the end of the season.

Naruto & Sasuke Vs. Momoshiki - 'Boruto'

When people need evidence that Boruto is actually an incredible show, they often point to Naruto and Sasuke's throwdown with Momoshiki Otsutsuki. Everything from the smooth fluttering of scrolls to the crisp hand-to-hand combat is beautifully animated, which is exactly what's needed for a fight where two legendary ninja who viewers have known since their childhoods finally get the chance to show off what they can do as adults.
