List Rules Vote up the movies and shows perfect for fans of Big Little Lies.

If you’re a fan of Big Little Lies, HBO’s adaptation of the best-selling book by Liane Moriarty, you’re not alone. Big Little Lies was a huge breakout hit in 2017. And, if you loved the miniseries, you’re probably looking for more TV shows and movies like Big Little Lies. This list can help – it includes plenty of Big Little Lies recommendations.

Big Little Lies fans often say they were drawn to the strong female characters and the bonds they create. With that in mind, several other Big Little Lies similar shows follow the same route. Another huge 2017 hit, The Handmaid’s Tale (based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name), is an obvious choice for this list.

Another excellent choice for what to watch after Big Little Lies is the upcoming HBO series Sharp Objects, based on the novel by Gillian Flynn. This series, like Big Little Lies, features a host of huge stars (led by Amy Adams), and is directed by Jean-Marc Vallee – who also directed Big Little Lies and the Reese Witherspoon hit film Wild. Sharp Objects was expected to debut in 2018.

And obviously, if you’re a fan of the stars in Big Little Lies – including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern and Shailene Woodley, several of their films/TV shows are included on this list of Big Little Lies similar movies. Among them: Election, Enlightened, Practical Magic, and We Don’t Live Here Anymore.
